NHL Season 2018-19

Tell us more about this Grateful Dead Night.
I'm oddly intrigued.

They open the doors at 5:00 and have a local Dead cover band play for an hour or so (Dead Again). They were really good, bass player was tight and even had two drummers and a Donna. You also got a dead red wings jersey with your ticket. They had dancing bears on the screens during the game and even played some dead tunes over the PA during the game. One of my buddies got to ride on the Zamboni last night with Al Sobotka too! Pretty great deal for $58 a person. Although they did get me on a few $13 IPAs.

The Dumpster fire that is the Sabres is heating up with talk of a coaching change. I'm pretty much done until the playoffs.
Then I can watch hockey with actual talent.
Hey, remember where your team was a year ago versus today. From dead last to being in wild card contention until the last quarter of the season. Great strides, IMO. (Although some of the recent trades they made were headscratchers.) Yeah, there's been rumblings about Housley's coaching ability for months now, but even Babcock took a couple seasons to turn Toronto around. See the glass as half-full, my friend!

Sounds like fun for those who like jam band music but I gotta tell ya that stuff makes me violent. LOL

We did used to call them The Dead Wings in the dark days before they drafted Stevie Y.

I actually first heard about a Dead night at an NHL game in Miami last year when I went to see panthers/ preds. They were selling t-shirts from it for $5 that had the dancing bear with some hockey sticks and a panthers logo. I'm guessing that it's not something that a team does if they are selling out every game, if you know what I mean.

Most Panther fans have sweaters that perfectly match the seats. Ya just can't see 'em.

That sounds like a super fun night! And who hasn't thought about a Zamboni ride.

I know. It's just tiresome how bleak the sports scene has been for so long. Down years are inevitable, but that's when ownership and management has to step up and do their jobs. Ranting is part of being a fan!
