Make Jack Johnson the last guy on my bench. The return isn't worth the minutes he's getting.
But I also understand Sullivan is stuck right now with his defensive pairings due to injuries. Once those guys come back Johnson would be a healthy scratch.

All is not lost though for me from Saturday night. I was happy for Martin Jones. We watched him play for the Manchester Monarchs when we lived in New Hampshire, so it was cool to see him get a shut out. I'm glad he's getting to play. Back then I thought he'd be stuck behind Jonathan Quick his entire career.

Flyers finished the home and home sweep of the Rangers today. They've been playing some pretty good hockey lately. Can they keep it up? Probably not...

The West coast trip was a disaster.

The previous six games, all losses, Johnson averaged about 20 minutes of ice time.
Swallow your pride Rutherford and admit you screwed up. You too Crosby. He's your buddy.

Time to feel good...the Pens looked good, firing on all cylinders last night, lots of sweet passing, dominating puck possession, and looking like a completely different team that floundered its way through California.

On the other hand, it WAS against Ottawa. Hopefully they can continue the upswing this weekend against Washington and Carolina.

Johnny Boychuk takes a skate blade to the face. 90 stitches later across his eyelid, no damage to the eye. He's quite fortunate.

Johnson plays 16 minutes and the Pens win. So much for my 10 minute theory.
It sure helped having Dumoulin back. In the Pens post game, Bob Errey used the telestrator to show a few occasions where Dumoulin made a difference.
