NHL Season 2019-20

I got a text from my cousin a few minutes ago asking if I was watching the Pens game right now. At 1:45 in the afternoon on a Friday? Umm no.
I'd never expect to see an NHL game on at this time. This is dumb.

Some of us have been waiting since 1967....so a bit hard to feel too sorry for you.
Ha ha!! :D But if you think about it, that's only a difference of 8 years. (But I DID enjoy '74 & '75...)
All of this.

As a kid I remember the 74 cup. I went to a finals game as a kid and got to see my favorite players - Dave, Clarke and the killer B's in the net. As an adult, I know I was lucky to see Orr play live, but back then ... *shrug*. I wanted The Hammer to bust him up. ( Even though Schultz seemed to lose more than he won! :D )

Yeah, they WERE entertaining. I remember reading Schultz's book, "The Hammer". Pretty interesting. On game day, he'd lay on his bed and envision who he might have to fight that night, and would actually choreograph it in his head. He also said that the one guy he probably least wanted to fight was the Rangers' Nick Fotiu. Not the one most people would expect, but he was definitely in Schultz's head.

Flyers got past Boston 4-1. Got past Washington today 3-1. They'll play Tampa Bay Saturday. That means the Lightning will be the #1 seed and the Flyers will be #2. They always struggle against Florida teams...

Boston has a hard time with the Caps even when they're playing on all cylinders, and they certainly are NOT this week.

They need to settle down, and they've got little time to do it. The four seed might be a wakeup call for them; I dunno.

Bad enough the Pens lose to a 12th seed, but to give up the winning goal by having THREE Pens all facing the puck carrier as he goes behind the net while another Canadien sneaks in unnoticed by the Dmen and the backchecking forwards was embarrassing. That was a peewee hockey mistake. Jacques Martin's coaching has not improved this team's defensive play at all. That, among other things, must change if they want to capitalize on Sid & Geno's ever-shrinking window of opportunity.

Apparently you didn't see the last three Dallas Stars (my team) games. They did far worse. The Pens don't look so bad.

Did anyone see the Dallas Stars (my team) lose 0-4? I know the Colorado Avs scored the goals, but the Stars just stood back and let them.
It was embarrassing. I felt bad for the goaltender Khudobin. The Stars used to be known as a defensive team.
Also, apparently the Stars don't believe in shooting.
My Avs look good this year for the first time since 1997 or 8. Sorry your Stars had to be a victim but I hope the Av dream lives on for awhile!

I was watching that game with my dad and we both had the same reaction in real time. What the **** are you defensemen doing?

Both of us played amateur, mens league hockey and we were just flabbergasted at the total defense meltdown.

To be fair, lapses happen to even the greatest professionals. Thses guys are magnitudes greater in talent than I (or my dad) have ever been.

TV cameras are on them every second of every game and if any player ever trips over the blue line, then that video is on YouTube forever.
