NHL Season 2021

The NBC crew doesn't try to hide their lust for a 7-game series - they were convinced Marchand interfered on the goal (perhaps influencing the Isles to make the ill-advised challenge). I give the NHL credit for making the right call there as they probably want a 7-game series too, but not enough to throw all integrity out the window.
Whoa-and waitaminnit! Yer saying the refs aren't always right? or possibly try to influence an outcome? yer destroying my illusions...not.

Well, I'm gonna make my amended 2021 Cup prediction now...

Lightning look very good.

The B's need some guys to get healthy (Carlo, Miller) and some to find their game (DeBrusk) and for Rask to stay healthy enough to continue to keep the B's in games.

Miller may be back for game 5; I'd be thrilled if Carlo is back this round, but not counting on it. You really can't have too many defensemen in the NHL.

Re: predictions... Right now it's hard to ignore what Led Canadiens are doing. Not saying they're my pick, but we all know the difference a hot goalie can make this time of year.

(Unfortunately, my Penguins are on a streak of running into a hot goalie in the playoffs these past two years. :banghead: )

Price may be the key, but that whole team is playing (and being coached) very well. They believe in their system, forecheck fast and hard, and are no fun to play against. And some of the fast kids can score too. They made the right veteran additions to compliment what they already had.

Cassidy got fined 25k for his postgame comments (justified in my opinion) on the officiating. If it buys us a call it is well worth it.

That said, Isles took advantage of their PK chances. B's need to avoid the box, they are missing Carlo, one of their best penalty killers.

Wow.

Bruce Cassidy inexplicably stays with Tuukka, again, in one of those situations when EVERY Bruins fan knows Tuukka will implode. And, true to form, Tuukka implodes.

The whole team failed to show up tonight, to be fair, especially in the second. But Rask... ugh. Maybe the Kraken will take him somehow.

BIG congratulations to the Islanders and their fans; they played good, hard hockey and still have plenty of fight in them. Go get 'em, Isles.

Ok, I can go along with most of that. However, GO BOLTS!

Matthew Barzal was a standout for the Seattle Thunderbirds before the Islanders called him up. I am glad to see him doing well. For that reason, it would be cool if the Islanders win it all.
For me, it'll be one of those 'I remember when' moments with Barzal. Going to Thunderbird games in Kent, Washington with about 4,000 other fans. Not because of the pandemic, that's just a small arena.

OK, and while I get that, nobody has repeated for awhile, so I'd like to see the Lightning do it b4 we lose a lotta guys to cap limits, FA, etc. Funny enuff, I'd like to see the Panthers in it next year. They got closer than I expected this year.

Of the teams still left in the playoffs, I am finding myself leading towards cheering for the Islanders. I still feel that the Toronto Maple Leafs made a massive blunder, when they decided to hire "Dumbass" as their GM, versus keeping Lou.
Had they kept Lou, I would bet that none of the "big four" would have gotten the money they did from Dumbass and the Leafs wouldn't be in the cap situation they now find themselves.
