NHL Season 2024-25

Yeah, that's exactly what's been happening on the other side of the state. Pens had put together a nice little streak where they won 5 of 6. Nice on one hand, but at this point, when wins don't matter, all they're accomplishing is dropping their draft position.

I can't root for them to lose, and never want to see any team tank, but winning now is actually hurting them in the long run. Glad there's only a handful of games left this season.
That's my dilemma as well. I don't want them to deliberately tank, but wouldn't mind if they just kept up their losing ways until the end of the season...

Looking forward to the Stanley Cup playoffs!

Although never been an Ovechkin fan, I've reluctantly accepted that he will indeed break the Great One's goals record. And I honestly hope he does it in the next couple of games.

Not because I'm rooting for him, but because the last thing I want is him doing it the last game of the season against my Penguins. Absolutely do not want to see that highlight playing forever against my team! :smug:

I'm actually rooting for this

As someone who likes math and statistics, I find this fascinating

Sorry to rain on the parade, but Gretzky actually scored #894 in game 1479. He then finished out the remaining eight games of his career without putting one in the net. Even the Caps broadcasters made that point during the game last night, and I salute them for pointing that out. Still, it doesn't detract from this amazing feat.

And props to Ovechkin, who supposedly told Carberry he did not want to go out on the ice with an empty net...he wanted the record-breaking goal to be scored with a goaltender in place. (Although to be honest, he never passed up an EN opportunity in reaching this point!)

Can anyone guess how much scalpers are going to get for Sunday's game on Long Island?
:smug:

Yes, but 7 games difference for the same goals?

Oh, and $11k on the glass…
