No real rockstars anymore...

It’s not that there are no more real Rock Stars anymore it’s what the corporations want us to listen to and how they manipulate what they call “stars”. My wife and I love live locale music and I’ve seen lots of great Rock Stars out there in front of mic’s on open mic nights.

Nope. Kurt didn't overdose. Cortney shot him in the face with a shotgun.

Lol. Dave Grohl (his drummer/one of his best friends) said "I will never forgive him for that", so he believes he killed himself. I feel I don't have a right to make a decision based on an Internet conspiracy theory, I'd go with what his friend said.

here's a bunch of info regarding this:

Death of Kurt Cobain - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

i would say it takes a pretty selfish guy to leave your daughter fatherless. cobain never really struck me as the type, i dunno.

I think if you're looking for "real" rock stars in mainstream music you will be dissappointed, but if you scale down to the local scenes you'll find plenty of bands with alcoholic drummers, meth-head guitarists, and singers who take other guys' girlfriends back to their car after the set for some Enter-personal Relationships :)

Why the change in the mainstream segment? Who knows, but I blame MADD. But in the local scene you can still find crazy :)

Peace,
Greg

Amen. I'm all junked up with Oreos and cold milk. Can't seem to shake the habit. I hate to think of the cold sweats I'll go into when I do.:help:

LOL Don't do it cold-turkey! I hear it's best to ween yourself off gradually. :D

Back to the OP - I just think it's the change in culture. The vast majority of us aren't professional musicians and have to have some sort of a day job to keep the debt collectors happy. And keeping a day job usually means you've gotta pee in a cup at some point. Plus all of the negatives that come with addiction. It's all glamorous and junk for the few years you're on top, but then what? Die? No thanks. :scowl:

American Idol spews out rock stars every year. They are bland and all sound the same but hey the music industry can't be wrong.

They don't deserve to be rock stars. Rock stars are irresponsible, drug addicted, reckless people who are good at making music.

Anyone else is just someone who needs drug money, IMO.
