Noble Amps Preamp

It’s a great little unit! I’m always using a cab sim of some sort, I don’t really like the clean DI signal in my in ears. I want the sound of an amp and cab, feels more natural to me.

I like the fact that you can load 10 IRs and A/B test them easily. And it’s so easy to try out preamps this way, and try which cabs suits best.

it’s perfect for a practising rig at home with the aux in and headphone out but it would have been even better with an XLR too.
Is the headphone and aux in quality pretty good/clear? Also do you know if you turn the cab to off does it pass a clean signal to headphones? That could be just the solution I'm looking for also.

Yes, it’s a very high quality unit. I suppose it’s the same as in the Olympic preamp and that is top notch. the best practice rig I’ve tried so far.

And if you turn the cab to off you get the clean signal, very useful!

I really recommend it. But you should know that the box itself is plastic. Really sturdy, but anyway. That’s hard to see on pictures.

Another great combination! Still a dual band compressor and now even a dual band distortion. I use just a little distortion and a lot of clean blend. Growly and punchy as hell!

Didn’t remember the FEA Dual band distortion was this good, looking forward to the new incarnation!

Looks like I've got a CabZone on the way. Already looking forward to pairing it up with the Noble

Well I received my Noble in the mail today. I listened to my Stenback 5 string passive bass. Every note is phat, yet articulate. You can't make it sound bad. I don't know how he does what he does nor the technical language to describe what I heard, all that I can say is that my bass has never sounded better. It goes into my gig bag forever. It's not hype. End of story.

It made a literal world of difference in my direct to FOH signal. Especially on the really small gigs, like weddings where they won’t let us get too loud. My bass still sounded huge!

I know exactly what you mean. Went to two different socially distanced rehearsals this week, today’s outdoors. First BL loves the sound and describes it as “creamy”. Today’s guitarist makes the journey over to the board to see what I’m running that’s giving me “that nice deep sound.” They hooked the DI through a small board to two new subs. I really appreciate how good my rig sounds both recorded and live.

Thank you for that profound revelation lol.
I'm not commenting directly on your playing...I have no idea...never listened to you, etc. Just saying people put WAY too much hope in gear and it could be a disappointment when you first plug into it. It's a pretty pure sounding box.

It looks like you have a Starlifter you just received two weeks ago and are immediately ready to flip and a $5800 Roscoe you got in January and were trying to sell quickly. So, it's not like you're figuring this stuff out. The Noble most likely isn't going to be your "answer" to whatever your quest is. It's just a DI box with two tubes in it. What you put in is what you get out and it's very high fidelity.

My pedalboard vision done on the Pedaltrain planning tool. The red distortion pedal is a placeholder for my Broughton HPF/LPF (red with white knobs) which is not included in the tool.

Thanks. POG and Darkglass are GAS list items. Not sure if I really want a board vs sitting everything in top of the amp. The idea of putting a Noble or POG2 on the floor makes me cringe.
