Thx for the reply. After reading the entire thread, I had read a previous member had posted an issue he had with the noble and his line6 g70. I have the g70 as well. It's a large digital wireless receiver in foot pedal design. Seems like the nobles dc power supply won't work for me. No worries though. Still interested in the noble as a preamp/di. Gott say though, if you can find a way to isolate these outputs you'd have yourself a super rad untouchable peice of gear. It would allow users so may more options in regards to the power side of your pre/di.

They're a great band and it's a fantastic record! Tim tracked through the Noble DI on the record and also tours with one for all their live shows.

I'm probably biased (You think??) but that album is a modern must-listen-to for bassists. The bass tone is superb. Bass is way out front in the mix and his playing is really quite exceptional.

Of course, the songwriting and other players ain't too shabby, neither!

You can, but it is not recommended. It takes up so much power you would not be able to use all of your outputs. I guess it depends on how important that Compressore is. There wouldn't be much power left for other pedals.

I use a MB Compressore with mine on all gigs. No issues. Mine has two 12v ports and four 9v. Generally I have only a couple things plugged in - the MB and an Empress Para EQ.

The MB normally runs on an AC adapter that looks pretty ordinary to me except that it's 12v.

Sorry... I should clarify... I didn't say it can't be done, I just know from conversations with Jack that it was not recommended to me due to the power it takes. That was my situation as I was planning on using all of my outputs. It's a great compressor... I used to own one. If you are only planning on using a few pedals it should work out great for you.

I've only heard about noise issues with the Torpedo digital CAB simulator and the Strymon digital delay/reverb pedals. These pedals are like small computers inside and can put out a high frequency "whine" that is picked up by analog pedals through the shared DC ground. If you run just the Torpedo CAB and Noble it will be quiet, similar with any of the Strymon pedals when they are used alone with the Noble. But the moment you add a traditional analog pedal along with the big digital ones that's when the noise issues occur. Aside from these two I do not know of any noise issues due to the non-isolated DC supply, even from other digital-based pedals.

Bottom line, if you're using large digital pedals you'll want an isolated supply for those pedals; analog pedals don't necessarily need to be isolated from each other.

There's a great explanation video on YouTube with regard to powering pedals (pedalboards), called VCPI. Dan and Mick inhabit the That Pedal Show channel, I love what they are doing even if it's guitar centered.

I was holding back on a Reddi, and was put off by The Noble v1's exposed tubes. When I saw v2, and all of the features it had, I knew that this was the one for me... and IT IS! It replaced a 3Leaf Audio Enabler, Voodoo Labs PP2, and Radial JDI. Since then I have realized that with the natural tube compression, that I no longer needed my Cali76 CB. It has more than paid for it's place on my board! My Noble is going nowhere, unless it's with me. I also find that I prefer the sound of my passive basses, or the actives in passive mode. The one is a win-win-win

out of interest how much compression were you using? I've used a Maxon CP9 Pro+ for years to compensate for levels but I'm wondering whether the noble may negate the need for it.
