Pics do not do it justice. Is it worth $300? Ehhh..that is debatable. To me it was. I can say that it's MUCH, much better than newer stock Fender or Chandler. Very 3 dimensional, no pixels, amazing.

With regards to value… many will pay $300 + for a fancy top wood. IMO a pickguard is the same sort of thing. Mark’s work is outstanding, and yours is one of the nicest I’ve seen. Enjoy it!!

WOW! That is a major upgrade - so much better than the stock PG that comes with the AO 60s P. Time for me to look into Stingray, then.

Yea the stock tort kinda sucks. Mine was especially lame. This is tort heaven!

Great looking pickguard for sure. I’m on the fence about ordering one of these for my vintage Fender (original guard long gone). I gotta think about it.

Yep, I ended up swapping in a mint green PG on mine. But that Stingray wins! Amazing.

Every product has a minimum of 3 grades. Good. Better. & Best.

I think we can all agree when it comes to pick guards SPITFIRE is unarguably the best. Think of it in those terms & the price is more understandable.

A place I worked years ago had an already old but highly functional wooden step ladder there.

On this ladder was a tag hanging with the company name and the slogan “quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.”

I've ordered a few Spitfire guards and I haven't been disappointed with any of them. They are definitely closer to the old Fender tortoise guards than anything else I've seen, if that's what you're after.
There is an element of trust involved in that you don't really know exactly what the finished product will look like, and there is some variation for sure, but the degree of artistry is very consistent.
This is a "Subtle 60's vintage dark/burgundy mix" P-bass guard (light relic) that I think is my favorite.

Natural headstocks are where it's at with Fenders, especially with Precisions.

Black headlock faces (ala Spectors) > than color-matched headstocks.
