NPD: SA Aftershock

installed Neuro and firmware update did the trick. thank you!! not used to pedals requiring updates out of the box, but i guess that's the age we live in.

Pedals made overseas have a pretty long lead time. And, you can never discount the idea that a pedal bought in March of 2018 was made over a year or two ago and sat in a store or warehouse since then. At least the process to update is pretty painless.

Got my aftershock today!! This is the greatest pedal ever made, got 3 presets burned onto her(OCD, octave fuzz and foldover2) and they all sound great stacked with my DG amp's VMT setting or alone

Off topic, but I got the presets for the orbital as well dialed in super quick. I just zeroed it out and used the factory presets, didn't need to change a thing from there so now i got a great chorus and phaser going....

I honestly don't remember why I didn't dig this the 1st time a few years back? Maybe it's hearing it with fresh ears or something?

Next on my list is the manta, I'm gonna try out a few different FX25 like settings and try to copy this foldover sound so I can maybe shift things around on the Aftershock!? I'm very happy today

I just *love* how it sustains and sorta feeds back on the high notes, just beautiful sounding!! Down low it's an excellent fuzz and keeps the definition, just what I've been looking for in a fuzz
Nathan's presets are generally among the best ones on there. Which is as it should be, since he works there :D

it sounds to me that the pedal’s FW was corrupt. There is no way you need to update a brand new pedal before it will work.
Got one of these in the mail, hopefully today or tomorrow. Is anyone using it with the tap tempo footswitch? Any advice on how to best use it/how it works in general? Looking forward to adding this to my board ASAP.
My Tap Tempo arrived earlier this week, but so far i cant see a need for it. Not sure when ill get around to using it. I was going to use the AS as both always on and extra dirt, via the Tap Tempo, but now i have my BDDI back on the board the AS will just be used on and off when needed.

In my view community presets (and I am going to include Nathan as part of the community) are much more valuable than "celebrity" presets. Nathan knows the pedal and the editor deeply. There is no way some celebrity player in 1 hour can match his work.

He's also a freak of nature not of this world. When you come from the future, our technology looks primitive and simple.

I can totally see know *why* players get into the hub/midi thing now that I own this!

Just a few things: when I 1st plugged in back in earlier it was making a metronome noise whether it was bypassed or not, I unplugged and plugged it back in and it was gone (?!)...what's up with that??

And 2: I wanted to explore some other presets, now that I have 3 burned onto the pedal it wouldn't let me try others with the app? I'm gonna try this again in a bit...

Either way this pedal is amazing, hopefully it doesn't do that metronome thing again.

Edit: I figured out my 2nd question

Sometimes connecting up via USB can cause ground loops when you are connected to a computer.

I don't have a computer, only an android!! LOL

Anyways it didn't do clicking noise again, but I'm still learning. I've been geeking out on this thing for the last 6 hours, I went through every single preset and saved the ones I dig the best. I'm loving it

I use it to: 1) run dual channels, switch between channel A & B (essentially two effects switching back and forth) or 2) same idea, but significant changes in the setting of the same engine, so switching between extremes or 3) running in parallel use it as an on/off switch of A running into B. Channel A becomes your dirty boost or layered dirt option.
