NPD: SA Aftershock

@rsmith601 & @nnavarro I know y'all are busy gearing up for NAMM but question or suggestion. With all the buzz these days about crossover distortion pedals is that something you might be working on adding to the AfterShock or something it is already capable that this dummy has not gotten to yet, still working my way to full grok status.

Sure thing! I suggest starting with the Neuro preset titled, "Low Retain Template." Use the Neuro Mobile App or Neuro Desktop Editor to select, AfterShock // Browse Sounds // Web // Search by Popularity // Low Retain Template. Channel 1 of this preset processes mid and high frequencies, while channel 2 processes low frequencies. The channels can be adjusted independently, applying different distortion engines and Drive, Voice, Voice Frequency, EQ, etc settings to each channel. The preset routes the channels in parallel and sums them to mono. The channels can also be routed separately, to output 1 and output 2, using the "Mono In, Stereo Process, Stereo Output" routing option.

Thank you, I am still working on my grok, only had to read that 3 times to understand. I think I got it, thank you.
Are you developing any new models for the distortion trio, like perhaps a Dumble?

haha Any time! We're deep in synth/filter/pitch land at the moment with the upcoming C4 pedals. A Dumble would be great though. Noted!

Hey guys, I’ve been out of the loop for a while. Has an update come out I’m the last little bit?

I remember reading that there was a plan to add a way to use the physical blend knob to balance between two stereo channels (in parallel mode) in the next update. Has that come out yet? It would really help for something I’m working on.

Too much pedal for $75. People must think there is something wrong with it!

I'm hoping there's nothing wrong with it, because I'm the guy who bought it. Also been waiting to snag one under $100, and I was finally quick enough on this one. I'm pretty happy with the 3 dirt pedals I have on my board, but I'm gonna dig into the Aftershock to see if it can do double or triple duty. I'd love to free up some space on my Metro20...

I suspect it is just fine. Even in 2019 there is this perception that Aftershock is too good to be real. If we price it at $400, perhaps that would have been different. If we marketed it as "low noise analog FET amp input technology", that might have helped. As one of the most famous analog bass distortion experts on this forum will attest (@johnk_10 ), Aftershock is crazily good at many, many things. If there is something wrong with it, we will help you out!

Fair enough - I'm mostly joking. And I have no doubts about the reputation of SA gear or your customer service. I've owned the Manta, Nemesis, and Lunar in the past, and you were super helpful answering questions here on TB. Honestly, my biggest concern is where to start diving in with the Hub and a Midi controller if I end up finding a number of settings that I like on the Aftershock. Beyond that, I'm considering going back to the Nemesis, since I didn't give it a fair shake on my first round of ownership. If the Aftershock pushes me into Hub/Midi territory, the Nemesis would help me make more use of the Midi controller. Then there's the forthcoming Filter/Synth pedal. Oye..

I actually bought one, sold it, realized that it was awesome and I was dumb as hell, and bought it again. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's orange. If they released a "dark" edition that was black (even if it was accented orange or something), I'd buy it again. I'm already trying to wrap my head around owning a purple pedal for the filter release.

Yes, I realize I'm a psychopath.

The filter is also going to come in silver - the C4 Synth instead of the Spectrum filter, same internal capabilities just like the distortion and modulation series.

It is actually a total of 6 tones [3 preset + 3 live] that is without adding the hub. The Neuro app is easy to use even for this old luddite. I have been able to replicate several of my beloved vintage and boutique pedals that cannot be replaced well enough that my originals will stay in the studio safe and sound.

It will be interesting to see how the secondary markets evolve for each. i.e. If one consistently sells used for more or less than the other, despite them being the same pedal. Sort of like the MXR Bass Compressor and the MXR Studio Compressor. They are the same circuit, but the Studio Comp sells for less on average in the used market.

Well @rsmith601 might be able to comment on how the Aftershock/Kingmaker/LA Lady sales breakdown, as well as the Mercury/Lunar/Gemini sales
