NPD: SA Aftershock

1) Aftershock
2) LAL
3) KM

1) Gem
2) Lun
3) Mer (distant 3rd)

Not surprised by the Aftershock being in the lead (great name, plus you get all the bass business). I personally vastly prefer the aesthetics (name/color) of the Kingmaker to the LAL, but I can see that perhaps an overdrive would sell better than a fuzz.

On the modulations I have to believe that is driven by the preference of chorus vs. phaser vs. flanger. For name/color i would put them in the opposite order!

Even in 2019 there is this perception that Aftershock is too good to be real. If we price it at $400, perhaps that would have been different.

The filter is also going to come in silver - the C4 Synth instead of the Spectrum filter, same internal capabilities just like the distortion and modulation series.

That would be an interesting test. Offer the Spectrum for $229, and the C4 for $999, and let's see what happens!

Sort of hijacking the thread here (though I do have the Aftershock and love it), but I'm wondering if the Lunar, which I also have on my board, has a sound meant to emulate the EHX Small Stone and/or Bad Stone. One thing I love about the Aftershock is how I can access the sound of classic pedals through the Neuro App.

The foldover isn't really a bit crusher it's more of a filtered Fuzz. It shares the same adjustable parameters with the rest of the distortion engines.

This is one of my very favorite settings on this pedal. I only wish I had a use for it, but man, is it good!

I have one on the way! It only took me 3 years ;)

I think I've almost bought this pedal like 5 times since then. But since I got the C4 and a HUB on the way too, I figured its time to get the Aftershock!

I think you’re gonna love it dude. Try some of Nathan Navarro’s presets at the outset. Almost all of my patches started with a Nathan preset. His tube screamer patch is especially awesome.

I think the Aftershock is a woefully underrated and under-talked about pedal. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it.

Yeah man i end up liking just about every preset Nathan shares. Can’t wait for the AS! Should be here tomorrow. Gonna dig in hard.

Hey @smeet, you still using the Aftershock?
I'm not. I thought it sounded great, but for some reason the combination of offline programming, not a lot of on-the-gig tweakability, and only a few on-board presets didn't quite seem to work for me. But... I'm reconsidering buying another one now...

My HUB and the AS are delivered on my porch as I type. I think with the combo of those and the C4, I'm going to be very happy with the amount of sounds and presets I can get. Especially with the added abilities of the HX to control it all. This is gonna be so awesome!! :D
