NPD: SA Aftershock

Kinda feel the same. I bought a Hub and I mainly use it as a means to control my AS and C4 via expression.
I'm looking forward to the Multiwave Distortion @rsmith601 once teased. I'd be delighted to see as many distortion engines in it as the AS has. Even if that isn't the case I have a feeling it will completely replace the AS for me.

I mean, just bought the AS a month or two ago and I'd re-buy.

I've also had the Hub do a weird thing or two where it decided to not send expression on the channel I have the C4 on randomly with no recourse to dig in 'in the field' to make any changes. That was a bit of a mind-bender, given I'd never messed with the hub expression MIDI send settings. I did figure it out once I was home and had my laptop connected but didn't inspire much confidence.

That sounds like a headache for me! I still have yet to even touch MIDI. I just have the two hooked up to the HUB via TRRS and set the expression settings per patch.

The Hub has a setting for what channels it sends expression on. I have my C4 on Channel 1 and for some reason the Hub decided it would send expression on 2 and above. I hadn't even realized that control existed until I had to figure out why none of my envelope sweeps were working though the C4 had the expression control set correctly.

While I enjoy the Aftershock, I really hope that SA drops a new pedal soon that has similar MIDI implementation to the C4 or Spectrum.

Really not digging having to use the Hub to trigger presets then having no ability to edit/resave on the fly.

I agree. I love how the C4 is implemented. I recently bought an aftershock and really like the sound but don't think I'll be going through the hassle of adding a hub.

Hey everyone, I have a problem with this pedal. First of all, I don't know if it's the cause of the problem, but it happened when I change the AC adapter of the pedal power because the original adapter had a broken wire so I changed it with another one and that's when the problem on the pedal came out.

The problem is that when I engage the pedal I hear a loud noise, the pedal works well, but after 2 or 3 minutes it starts to make loud noises, so loud that my bass head clips and so I don't hear anything anymore.

What is the problem? and is it possible to solve the problem? I brought it to a dude that knows his way through electronics but he told me that he doesn't think he can solve the problem because it's a digital pedal.

Somebody help me please. I need to have this pedal fixed by next sunday for the gig. Do I really need to buy it new and throw away the old one??? I really hope not

Have you tried it with a different 9v power supply that can provide 180ma of power draw or more?

yes I did. I tried with the original AC adapter of the pedal power that gives juice to all the pedals, but the problem is still there. At this point I don't know if using another AC adapter created the problem on my pedal maybe by giving different kind of power (I don't know much about these things) or if it's just a coincidence. All I know is that the rest of the pedals worked fine, including my bass comp which is a 18 volt powered pedal with inverted polarity.

the c4 adapter broke and your using a different one now?

You can use the mobile app if you need to make deep changes to the AS, then save to the hub.

if your talking about the 3 CCs in the global options, that’s for assigning hub expression, X and Y hot hand to midi output, it’s for use with effects downstream of the hub for expression control of midi pedals lacking an expression input.

Just curiosity
Bob typically wants to have the raw audio data at 48K for his mathematics. I assume that is what he does in the Aftershock. I would think that performing math on 96K audio would be pointless. I believe, but don't quote me, that the converters run at 96K, but they interpolate down to 48K.

Good evening, it's me again with another question. So I can't find the cable so I can't use my phone to use the app with the pedal, and I have to use the pc software with the pedal connected with a usb cable.

On the software I see 6 possible "spaces" where to store the various settings I change. I assume that the first three are for the "red light" presets and the other three are for the "green light" presets.

If I'm not mistaken I learned that the "red light" presets are not based on where the knobs are at the moment I engage the pedal, but if I then do turn a knob the pedal takes on the change of the knob. Did I learn correctly?

I hope I explained myself well. Thanks for the help
