I've had my One10 for far too long to have not posted it here. FOR SHAME.
I don't get to take it out much as most gigs here are backlined, but it's a lot of fun when I do - and even makes the subway/barging through crowds part of it relatively fun too. The TH350 sounds amazing through it and can seriously fill a room in surprising ways - I've had some great reactions from very confused sound techs who've wondered where all that bass is coming from

It's been 15 days since I ordered my Two10 and I'm turning into @#$%ing Gollum waiting for my precious to come to me.
As the owner of both a BBII & a Super Midget, I have to tell you the Quilter BB800 is killer! I have owned the Aguilar TH500 (twice), Darkglass MT900, Mesa D800 (twice), Markbass Big Bang, etc...
The Quilter makes these irreplaceable cabs come alive!

As a previous owner of a two10 (traded a fellow TB'er for the Super Midget) I can honestly say that is the only cab I wish I still had! It sounds like an 8x10
I miss it everyday and will have one again soon!
I'm currently running the 610 with a markbass LMT 800 with a darkglass b7k and VMT. I've decided I'm not really happy with the amp. No matter how much od/ distortion I throw at it, it lacks a "character" that I'm looking for. It seems kind of "2d". My bf cabs helped immensely but something is missing. There are so many great amps out there, and that's a great problem to have.
Stop it. I'm considering flipping my DG 900 head and my Demeter VTBP 800 for a Quilter. I've got a Alpha Omega pre and an OmniCab, and a few dirt boxes for character, so I could downsize to a pedal board mounted amp and pedals. My reason for trying the DG 900 was to have a head I could haul to jams without needing to bring pedals, and that seems to be working for me. However, pedal board without the need for an amp would be just as nice

Thanks to your previous posts and sharing with us what you are currently playing Monsterthompson... I can only say the Quilter might just be an ideal power amp for any Pre + pedals + Barefaced!
The onboard pre is stupid-simple yet crazy intuitive and sounds incredible. Plug in, turn two knobs for 10 seconds and wow.
That being said, my ultimate plan is running a Noble into the Quilter with my pedalboard and then, finally being able to say I'm done. These Barefaced cabinets are the best!
(Of course we all know that is a dream and not reality)
Do it Monster! I'm using a Q/Strip for extra tone shaping into my SC, but not cab sim. An Omnicab with a BB800 through a BF cab would be incredibly versetile.Stop it. Hate to say it but the little mark tube may have been the worst amp I've ever owned.
Does it sound like the old flatback 810 with CTS or the more modern 810e? Sorry if that's to detailed of a request.
Is there still a driver choice? I don't see much discussion here of it.

What do you mean? Both are available on the site, and several users comment on each driver/cab type.
I've been wanting to pick up a Quilter as a backup with the idea that it may be able to replace the Avalon U5 and QSC PLX 1802 I'm using, though I think I may miss the headroom of the plx bridged on synth patches with real deep low end: in certain rooms I'm running the plx and BT to their limits as far as deep low end is concerned (and I'll admit, there are times I want more) but the form factor and design of the Quilter is tempting for my needs/wants.
I know they seem to be available on the site but I haven't heard much of any discussion in the thread.
Would it be safe to say the retro is more Ampeg like?

Interesting perspective. That's really the bulk of the current posts, as I've been reading.
I think the retro (10") was likely designed as a nod to the old Ampeg 10" sound. I've never played the original, so I can't comment from first hand. However, there's plenty of thinly veiled references to the "classic" sound of 10's.

Just to make sure I'm not crazy I searched this thread for the word retro. In the year 2017 4 Times the term was used 2 of those for were my and your recent comments. Is there some secret code I'm missing?
