I had a CN212 before I got my Big Baby II's. It was an amazing cabinet and still one of my favorites.
The BB2's are louder, deeper, and high end content about the same.
I did prefer the more standard tweeter and l pad design of the CN212, and the crossover was seamless between speaker and tweeter.
One BB2 does a lot of what the CN212 was capable of, which is incredible. I'm sure the CN would be louder, but the low end content from a single 1X12 is amazing.

Finally get a chance to use my "Six 10 stack" at a gig this weekend. Outdoor block party and even though the Four 10 will cut it I am going to have fun with the 610. To be honest I have not yet found a venue where the Four 10 has struggled, but of course we do have FOH support. Bloody Four 10 just keeps getting louder with no apparent strain. Anyway, this gig is a freebie for a mate so I will just have some fun. A pair of One 10s connected together in series, then connected in parallel with my Four 10 as I have posted before. Should be fun. Still not sure whether to use the Orange AD200 or Fender Super Bassman or the recently acquired Mesa Subway 800+.......will probably go with tubes though

I still want to add a Two10 to my Four10 to make a modular Six10... Two10 for rehearsing and home practice, all six for when I need the big guns...alas it is a want not a need so maybe someday!!
I've always used tweeters before, but after speaking to Alex and explaining my previous rig and settings he recommended the Super Twin. He was right. I use it with a GK MB800 and usually play with either a Fender P-Lyte which EQs almost flat, or with a Chowny semi, for which I whack up the treble. I also use an Akai Unibass pedal to fill out when the guitarist takes a solo and the distortion sounds much sweeter through the ST than it did through tweetered cabs. I can happily play loud gigs without PA support, although I tend to put a little through the PA anyway to get better spread.
I had the same setup, CN212 and a CN112. Really liked them, one of my favorites also, but feel the BB2 has some serious bottom. I also pair it with the SM. Can't beat the portability and having a flexible rig for different situations.
Every time I go to rehearsal or a gig, people are amazed at the sound from such a small and lightweight box.

It's probably been mentioned before, but I've recently found that the BB2 makes a wonderful addition to my home theater setup as a subwoofer.
I've haven't been playing out much lately, and even though I've tried other bass speakers as subwoofers in the past and not been happy with the results, I thought I'd give the BB2 a shot, and it didn't take long to realize that it was integrating into the system quite nicely.
By the way, I tried the crossover setting at various spots and decided all the way to right (with the 12" speaker getting most of the content) was the best position for my setup. It took me about 3 days of tweaking the crossover points and SW levels on the main home theater amp to get things balanced, but now the overall response is smooth as silk. What a joy!
Gee, I sure like the way that limited edition TWEED 10 cab looks. Maybe Alex will make that a permanent option for all the cabs, hint hint nudge nudge : )

I've discovered these cabinets are fantastic when it comes to uncovering problems with your other equipment. They're literally so sensitive and adept at picking up anomalies if something's not adjusted right or malfunctioning. Just in the past month I've discovered one of my pedals was sucking a little tone. I subsequently changed the way I use it now. Also discovered my Ampeg SVT was not working properly. I tried my old marginal quality 4x10 (because of coarse I had to test everything) and these issues all but disappeared. I may never have known.
. . . . and in your technique.
Gear like this shines a spotlight into all the dark corners. Sometimes what you find can make for some uncomfortable technique changes, but you'll always end up playing and sounding better.

Ha ha ha ha , that was similar to the first Traynor amp I played through at my church back in 1994. It sounded so much..........like a speaker....bolted into a cabinet.........It made my electric bass sound so...............somewhat audible......

Very nicely matched in size and style when the cab is horizontal. I've got the rig on casters so I can slide it away under my desk.
Used the D800+ last night.
Sounded pretty stellar, but I'm going to use my Arkham tube pre/QSC GX7 tonight....
LOVE this cab. Still contemplating getting another one.

So i guess the 12" speaker has enough clear top end for definition? Nice.
It seems to have a shiny non paper center DOME too. Does a harder material enhance the top end extension of the LF speakers? Anyone know?
