The WT800C usually lives at the rehearsal spot. A great gigging amp except for the 30 lbs plus case so it doesn't get the gig use that it used to. An 1100 watt lead sled at 4ohms bridged is still a pretty cool thing though.
The Jule Monique 700 is the finest piece of kit I've ever had and very different from the WT. I will use it whenever That Tone will be put to best use. Not a bar amp unless it mattered.
The D800+ is a great bar amp as is the BB800. I would bring both to a bar gig and just use whichever tone suited my fancy in that room. And either one makes a great backup for the other.
I used to have a 3stack of ML112's (two was always enough) but want to try having a One cab solution so I've pared it down to one in anticipation of a new arrival. Those were my main cabs.
The Two10 is great but I do want a bigger single cab on hand. An ST would be a top contender.

Agreed. However, that doesn't mean there's a need to provide evidence of that kind of excitement.

Hey everyone. I have a super twin cab, which I use with a Mesa d800 and a musicman stingray. I play (too) loud and I love a very thick "bassy" sometimes slightly overdriven tone. So It's a great setup and suits me well. The ST is really great but I'm finding in some of the really small bars and clubs we play that it's just a bit on the big side, also I'm struggling to fit everything I need to take to a gig in my car (...I'm the mug that also got landed with the PA). So my question to anyone with far more experience than me, is if I get rid of the ST and get a BB2 (a bit smaller and certainly lighter) what am I losing or gaining sonically? Will the BB2 cope? I play most weekends and I need to be able to crank this up loud, overdriven and "bassy"...D800 gain and volume at 12:00 clock generally...if not a little more. Cheers y'all.

I just ordered a Super Compact, my first Barefaced cab. I believe the Super Twin is literally two Super Compacts in one casing, so if your looking for a smaller version of your current sound then a Super Compact might be a good idea.
As I understand it the BB2 has the tweeter which the SC and ST do not, so there will be some options there that don't exist with the Super Twin.
I won't have my Super Compact for a few weeks, but I am pairing it with the D800 as well and everything I've come across says this is an excellent pair. I would imagine it is more than enough with PA support.

This my first post but I did read all the way through this amazing forum before I invested. Thanks everyone for your posts and advice.
I've not felt for a while that my 2 AG GS112s were really delivering and although not very heavy they are awkward to carry. I use an AG 500SC and have a TH550 as a backup and mostly play a Jazz.
Living only 35 minutes from Brighton I was able to audition a BB2 and an SM side by side and top of each other. I felt that the extra bass on the BB2 was marginal (just tweak the tone control) and not worth the extra size so I returned the BB2 and bought two SMs. They've now been around for a month and have done four gigs and numerous rehearsals. I'm only using both on bigger gigs.
A few observations:
- The master volume control has seriously been turned down vs using the two GS112s. I have no idea how loud these things will go but it feels as though I have unlimited headroom.
- IMO the quality of the sound changed quite a bit as I ran them in. Smoother now than brand new.
- The midrange punch is way better on the SMs but they don't sound quite as "sweet" as the GS112s. Maybe that is the scoop that some people report on the AG cabs. Also, after reading Alex's posts I have eased the pickup mix control slightly off centre as this does seem to provide clearer mids.
- At the first rehearsal with an SM (rather than using the rehearsal room Peavy 4x10) the band immediately reported that they "could now hear everything I was playing". This is interesting as I didn't feel I was super loud. Maybe this is due to the better sound dispersion? Or maybe the better mids.
- Last week I plugged in my Warwick Streamer Fretless at a rehearsal and everyone, including me, got really excited. it sounds just fantastic in the mix. The mwah is so much more evident and the tone really sings. It immediately came out with us on our last two gigs. It's going to come out with another band on Wednesday.
- One SM with the TH500 came out with my upright to a Big Band session and sat in very nicely. It didn't seem to have quite the wonderfully smooth bassiness of my Acoustic Image Ten2 but it did a great job.
- Meanwhile this is the most portable gear I have ever had. I can pop a BG on my back, the TH500 in a bag over my shoulder and carry 2 SMs all in one trip. I could even manage all this on the London Underground.
So I'm a happy punter folks! The GS112s will shortly be on the market.

My BB2 showed up today. I plugged my B|AMP to it and turned it to 11 and it took everything i gave it. Not bad, sounds good, has some booty to it when that dial is cranked.

I have a very similar setup to you, D800+ into a Super Twin everything set to noon most of the time (vol & gain). I also own Super Compact and I would say you could get by okay with a single 12 if you have it raised up off the floor. The single 12 isn't gonna feel or sound as big as the 2x12 but it should be loud enough. This is assuming you're running off your cab alone.
If you always have PA support then just get the smallest cab you can find and run it tilted back in front of you like a monitor (I used to do this with an original midget back when I did the whole covers thing).
IMO, just roll on with the Super Twin (you can always turn the volume down).
As long as you're not interested in the higher frequency stuff, I don't think you'll be gaining that much in terms of portability in switching to the BBII.
The BB is 14.6 inches deep & the ST is 13.4 inches deep - in fact as far as stage (or horizontal carry space) the footprint of the ST (19" wide x 13.4" deep = 254.6 sqin) is about 4 square inches less than the BB (17.7" wide x 14.6" deep = 258.42 sqin).
The ST is 11 pounds heavier, but when carrying through doorways, I would think the ST should be easier to navigate.
The SPL difference between the BB & the Super Compact should be negligible on a gig & the SC would be easier to carry than either of the other two.
So basically, ST or SC, but I always prefer to have more cab than I'll need on any given gig just because I don't like feeling like I'm pushing a cab anywhere close to its limit.
