I'm using an older Markbass Little Mark with the Class A/B power section and have 2 more as backups. Sounds great with my BF cab. If you're familiar with my history on TB I've tried a LOT of Amps! No more Class D for me.
If I had to buy an amp for the BB3 today, I would get the Quilter V803 recently seen on NAMM (or wait for the soon to come (?) Barefaced amp, of course

Mesa TT-800 sounds great through my pair of bb-3's. Great setup.

I would consider that. Quilter makes a nice sounding Class D bass amp.
Reading about the Quilter BB800 in Surf101 is what led me to the Barefaced SC. I didn't make it to the Quilter amp so it's nice to see they have a new offering.
I must be easy to please. My Markbass LM Vintage, my TT-800, and my Genz-Benz Shuttlemax 12.0 all sound fantastic through my BB and now my SuperTwin. Those amps sound great with my EA cab as well as my Aguilar 15, but not through my Ampeg 15, which I returned.
Do any Barefaced cabs sound bad with any quality amp? I use my One10 and One10T with a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 and

I own 2 BB3's and a BB2, they run from an Ampeg PF50 VB4 to Orange Bass Terror 500,Fussion 550, Peavey VB3, Genz Benz Streamliner 600, each head has there own flavor, and they sound great !
My only head/Barefaced combos I didn't get along with:
1. Quilter. That amp was not to my liking. Not enough top end and it made every distortion pedal sound toothless.
2. Jule Monique pre with a rack power amp and a SC. I couldn't get the mids EQ'd to a setting that worked for me. It was a lot of honk.
Interesting about your experience with Quilter. We all have a different goal with drive/distortion sounds but I get plenty of what I like with a Tech21 SH-1 into the front of my BB800 + Super Twin.
Other users commented on the compression in the amp's design and I think that was what my issue was. It "rounded off" every pedal I had. It wasn't dark like the treble was being cut, but the attack was muted and no settings or EQ could get around it.
I'm well aware it's a wildly popular head, so I don't usually tell people to avoid Quilter amps, but it's one that I wouldn't suggest for anyone playing aggressive/harsh/heavy material.
That's super interesting. I like a heavy OD, bordering on fuzz with lots of sustain. The Quilter does that really well and I hadn't considered the built in compression adding to the effect. Or that it would work against people with different goals!

A good cab isn't going to make a crappy amp sound good. If anything, frfr cabs like the bt3 or bb3 series may allow one to hear how bad their head is... whether it is noise or simply being a poor design (poor dampening, bad distortion etc).

Every once in a while I remind myself:
The cab is the last line in your signal. My signal chain is bass/wireless pack/wireless receiver on pedalboard/all effects and buffers/hardline umbilical out (power and traditional 1/4") to first the power conditioner, then the amp…then the cab. Any and/or the above, if crappy quality, will have the cabs spitting out truth.
It is part of why I love the Mesa TT-800 so much, it sounds great through a pair of BB3's. Enough tonal control to have two distinct and very usable tones (it is a dual-channel amp) but designed well enough that there isn't hissing, noise or poor sound due to deficiencies in the amp's design. Enough headroom to allow the 12xn drivers to move some serious air and sound clean while doing it. Nothing sounds pushed or bad, even with some dirt dialed in on the boogie channel. It just sounds "good".
Some comments about Quilter above. I have the Bassblock 802 into two Barefaced Big Baby 2 cabs. It works nicely for me with plenty of power and tonal options, but I go for clean straight bass, no distortion or other effects. It's probably likely that many of the amps mentioned here will sound just fine with Barefaced cabs.
This was exactly my experience. I had forgotten all about the crossover control, and had left it cranked from day one. I wondered why I was having a hard time taming the harshness with my bass and amp controls... then one day I was setting up for a gig, and as I was pugging my amp into the cab, I saw that control, and felt like an idiot for forgetting about it. I dialed it back to about 50%, and all my problems went away. It's been sounding great, and not harsh at all, ever since.
