I reluctantly sold my B1500 to finally do the two rig thing that I've been pondering for several years now: one amp/cab w/ effects and one clean. I waited until I found a B800 to let the B1500 go. I had another amp to power the other rig. Well, somehow I lucked up and found another MINT B800 on ebay. So, I ended up getting 2 B800s in a matter of a couple of weeks. They sound great! I'll let you guys know what the band thinks after we get to rehearse a few more times.
Anybody ever tried to remove a B800 from it's shell and somehow rack-mount it?? If so, how'd it go?

I currently have an LB76. I used to have an LB76f in red quilt - best looking bass I've ever had or seen. I also played an lb75f for many years (all koa) and it sounded and looked great too. It was also exceptionally light. But I recently traded it towards a Pedulla Pentabuzz, which is a great bass (not that I don't miss my lb75f). My current lb76 had the truss rod break and I had Carvin repair it - although expensive, it was worth it.

Anyways, the 2 rig setup sounds even better than I imagined! The Carvin B800s and B1500s are truly phenomenal bargains!

The cabinet is small enough to fit inside a rack, and also the internals are not enclosed. What people have done is get a rack shelf, and then drilled some holes in it, and used the rubber feet on the bottom of the B800 to hold it on.

The LB is bit more refined and pianoesque. The Icon is much more aggressive and very Warwick-like. They're both excellent instruments, and I'm extremely happy with both.
P.s. The rosewood knobs are awesome! I wouldn't recommend them on a quilted red finish, but they really work with the Figured Walnut top.
