I just put a SUB on layaway at the local music shop. As soon as I pay it off it'll be mine, all mine, and I'll be a part of the EBMM club! :hyper: Pictures to come when it finally becomes mine. :D

And bovinehost, that Bongo is HAWT.

I have a SUB and you know what? It's as good as 99% of the Stingrays I've played - and I've played a few. I love my SUB. It was a gift from the guys over at the EBMM Forum, so besides being simply a great bass, it has something special going.

I just finished up a songwriting session with a friend of mine and that Bongo does really rock.

I've been playing fender jazz basses since high school (20 years) and never had a desire to try anything else. I walked in to my local mom and pop guitar shop a week and a half ago and fell in love/lust with a 2007 limited edition sterling 4 string with the blue dawn burst finish, matching headstock, black pickguard and rosewood fretboard. $1200.00 later, its mine (a steal!!). This is the best playing, best balanced bass I've played in a long time......maybe ever. And it looks awesome!! The sound, although not (yet) as versitile as I've read about, sounds great through my Ampeg svt3 pro. I say "yet" because I'm still learning all of the settings as I continue to noodle around with this thing.

I still can't warm up to the Stingrays, I think they look big and clunky, but I should have tried one of these Sterlings a long time ago!!:hyper:

I will be posting several Fender and Warmoth jazz basses for sale shortly.

I blew away some photos last night by accident.
re-posting.

black bass is a 2006 Stingray 5 HH, rosewood board.
burgundy bass is an almost pristine 1993 Stingray 5 fretless with pao ferro board and inlay. Neck is a beautiful birds eye maple.

We're not throwing rocks at Fenders. Personally I think they sound nice, and that's the problem for me. I love the nasty punch of the Stingray (and my MTD for that matter).

Having said that, I get to listen to lots of guys play lots of different basses in the store I work at, and it's amazing how much your fingers contribute to the overall sound. I can't make a passive Fender sound punchy, but we get lots of blokes in the store who can. Horses for courses I guess.

Just arrived the other day. Mee so happieee.

SO what number do I get???

Cool!

I'm anxiously waiting for my Sterling 5H to arrive. It should be here in a couple of weeks.

Trans Red with matching headstock, Maple neck, white pearloid pickguard and chrome hardware. I'll post a couple of photos once she arrives. If it plays, feels and sounds the way I expect it too, i'm going to immediately place my order for a 2008 LE Version.

Enjoy your new bass Kristopher.
