Yeah, sorry about that funkybe- I didn't know I was supposed to only see it as a reference photo. I didn't know it was going to you either- I figured with all its different options, it was a Japan order. Kinda funny it went to you though- I apologized to Rob about posting it, and said I understood that it could be a little anticlimactic for whoever ordered it if they didn't see it first because when I ordered a six a couple years ago, you told me you got to see it and play it before it was shipped to me and I felt the same way :D Again, sorry man!

No worries at all. I got the pic right before you did. I was going to post it here anyway.
This is my second 7 from Rob. He does great work. He has been great with my krazee
requests this time around.

You'd be a good person to ask about the bass then- the extra switches and knob seem to be for the MIDI, but what exactly are their functions? And how do you handle the extra frets that go onto the body? Do you use an upright-type thumb position?

Gives new meaning to "the dusty end of the fretboard."

Very cool that there's a patch switcher right on the bass. If you don't use a large amount of patches, it could even replace a MIDI foot controller.

so here is my latest acquistion. i should have it in a week or two.

what kind of top is it? is it walnut?

this goes against my other two elricks. ash body. 5 string. but i just couldnt stop playing it. it sounds amazing.

i picked that bad boy up from glenn at bassspecialties.

check out his website. he has a nice 6 string bolt on, on consigment. and a really sweet 5 string singlecut with a spalted bubinga top. pics dont do that bass justice. it is simply stunning in person!!

That bass looks amazing! Do you use an Axon or something else for MIDI?

Good to hear my bass looks nice- all I know is that it's buckeye, which means it could look like almost anything :D

Hi, I just saw this Elrick thread and I thought I would see if anyone has seen this bass (pic attached) around? It was stolen from me in Philly a few years ago and it has never surfaced. If anyone see's it, please let me know. It was one of my favorite basses EVER!!
The only difference from the pic is that it had a set of exposed pole piece pickups in it. Thanks!

Rob does not send progress pics.....at all! I know of only one guy who has talked him out of one and Rob offered him a beat down if he posted it on the internet! But on the other hand he will send you pics of tops he might have in stock......sometimes! ;).
