Official Eventide Stompbox (H9/Factor Series) Club!!!

Was not a seamless update process for me either, several hung/failed attempts. With persistence finally got the synth algo working tho and it's actually pretty cool. Will definitely take a lot of fine tuning, but it sounds like there are some very giggable synth bass sounds in there. A much appreciated addition to the H9.

Well it looks like they sure did a mistake...

I always have trouble with updating over the app/Bluetooth. Definitely use a computer with a USB if you can. Once I did that, I didn't have any problems getting the algo on both of my H9s (one Max, one Core).

I’m interested in seeing what people can come up with with the new Hotsawz algorithm. The presets didn’t do much for me- they made some fun old school cheesy horror movie sounds, but not a whole lot that seemed usable.

Well, as usual, my iPhone is not updating it, just communication errors. Working from the Mac though.
As I mentioned earlier, I have had very poor luck updating over Bluetooth. Over USB usually works great. Someone somewhere else (a FB user group?) suggested that if you have MIDI going into the H9 at the same time it might mess with the update.

It's the worst part of my setup, sometimes bluetooth via the Mac works, sometimes it does not, sometimes it works form the iphone, sometimes it does not. It's like 50% pf the MacOS/Hardware and iOS/Hardware combos don't work. Every time, I go on forums and it's like "yeah iPhoneX+iosY won't work", same for the mac. I get it, they can't spend millions on QA, but still, there is something wrong in their implementation. Maybe it's not high level enough that it is susceptible to specific hardware and driver layer changes.

Well, it was still messed up after a power cycle, it updated after the second power cycle, but needed a third power cycling before it was usable. Anyway, the second H9 went fine. The algo is cool, I'll give them that. It tracks perfectly monophonic on my perfect tracking mustang.
