I dunno why he said that, but I just opened my hardshell case, laid it on my bass and screwed it right in. That was after I'd ordered (and returned) one from Choppers in Canada.

Yes standard tort guard. Some of the wear was there when I got it used but it's getting bigger and bigger. That color is the thinnest paint job I've ever seen!
I am wondering how I can protect the paint in that case...I don't want to clear coat it myself b/c I would for sure destroy a new bass.

While the top finish does come off easily, i found on my HW1 at least, that there is a coating of varnish or some other glossy finish underneath so you never get down to the actual uncoated wood.

This really makes me want A burst J with a black pg. I'm debating between a HW1 and a used geddy at this point
I really wanted a 3TSB HW-one when i got rid of the faulty MIA's but couldn't find one so went for black.
Im not really a lover of 3TSB but this faulty MIA i had for a couple of weeks was stunning and if the HW-one came with a maple neck i would have paid whatever the asking price was.
I also remember there being White HW1's although i think these were only available in the USA

By the way, did you order a gloss black pickguard, or matte black pickguard? this looks like gloss, and if it is, I wonder how a matte PG would look, especially with the HWY1 already matte finish...

Well, that's encouraging, likewise that he has Ps and Js, so I could pick up one of each.
Is the thickness of these the same as stock? Sometimes these third-party guards are very thin.
