My Ultimate Drive arrived today, and I'm very happy with it. 9 o'clock on everything with the switch set to "low" gets me there. Ran into the input of a PF 800 through a Peavey 115 cab. Over on the guitar side, I also have the Joyo American Sound, Actone, and Crunch Distortion. I prefer rough and raspy drive on guitar, but the smooth, fuzzy nature of the UD works perfectly on bass.

...And holy mother of pearl! I just patched the American into the Power Amp In of my PF 800. Tightness, balance and clarity! Usable tones all over the place.

I too have played through both, and I can confirm that the UD seems to handle the low end better than the OCD.

I'm not sure which of the two dist tones I prefer more though... but for a 30€ vs 160€ price difference there's really not that big of a dilemma.

How does the British compare to the American in tone??

I purchased the American and UD at the same time, I have since sold the UD. Probably could have kept it, but hey.
Putting extra pedals I have on a spare board to leave at a mate's house, just tossing up whether to get a British to go with my American, or a cave passive pedals B drive that is available locally.

I put my SFT in front of my American and it Def sounds great.

I also run the American into the input of my Peavey Classic 50 410 guitar amp with great results. It does somewhat Fenderize that amp while retaining all the tubey goodness of the Peavey. An MVP pedal, for sure, at home in any register.

How does the British compare to the American in tone??

Well to my ears, the British is a bit darker, and "looser" I guess if that makes any sense. I'm no good with describing tone like some around here are, but I would label the British a bit crunchier.
I've no experience with and no knowledge of the Marshall vs. Fender amps they're modeled after, but can say basically the pedals are very similar, with just a bit different flavor.
I currently use the British as an always on, and the American is all out distortion.

how do you all secure your Joyo's to your board? My velcro doesn't seem to like to stick to the rubbery bottom on my Joyo UD.

I put my back plate on upside down so the bare metal shows and the rubber side is inside the pedal.
