hey guys...question for you all...I would really like your opinions. I am realizing that I am not a fretless player..lol. I am thinking about selling my fretless and getting something new. I have a JO5, and am thinking about either a 55-02 or a Glaub. Either one in 3TBurst with a Rosewood board. My playing is split between rock/blues/soul and contemporary Christian/worship. Everything from Lincoln Brewster to Israel and New Breed. Which way do I go? I love a good ole'P but a 55-02 is intriguing me as well. I will be keeping the JO5 fretted, but am wondering what I should get next! Thanks!

It's hard to go wrong with a 55-02, especially for what you're looking for...

:eek::eek::hyper::hyper::bassist::bassist:

Nice!! I knew you couldn't resist that bass. That's one beautiful bass man! Congrats Markus!!! I bet it is killer! I talked Kirk into doing an Ash body with a solid color finish on mine, rather than doing alder. I've changed it from Olympic White to Pearl White by the way. Man, I tell you what Kirk has been amazing to work with! Lakland are great people!

oooooooooooooooooo......sounds niiiiice!!!! now I am jealous!!!

BTW - I stopped by Lakland yesertday (or did I post that already?)...anyways - Leo said my 55-07 should be no more than a week or two away!!!

So has anyone else checked out the sweet JO tone that Guy Pratt is getting on the Gilmour Live at Gdnask DVD on High Hopes? Absolutely stellar. Always loved his playing (not to mention being a massive Floyd fan anyway), so it's great to see him playing one of our beloved Lakies...

keep it low....keep it low!!!!!

Had to raise it just a scoanch!

I thought Markus was the marketing guy......first Greg with the pics and stuff and now this........OMG - what is going to happen next?????

Oh snap!

can I have a number or do I need to to PM "Jedi"????

actually you can, to the tune of about $1600!! after seeing that bass that markus bought it got me thinking, i called glen at bass specialties and to have basically the same bass made in a skyline version 44-02 based with the passive tone control and humbucking chi's. im waiting to hear back on how long it would take. but if im gonna spend that kind of money im gonna probably gonna buy a used u.s. model

well....be prepared for about double the price then!!!! but it will be worth it!!!!

For Isreal and Lincoln the 55-02 will do you well.....it has a little more "modern" sound than a P bass does.....I play alot of the same songs and my 55-02 fits is great! I also have the P/J which does well in "most" cases..... I would say go 55-02.....(Just my opinion however!!)

Hey guys this might be a longshot but anybody interested in trading their 4-94 for a SWEET US DECADE???? I go it in a trade I did with SQUID (76Dub) it is the same one he posted here. He needed a rig to go with his other basses so I made a deal with him for this Decade thinking I could find someone who wanted to trade me a 4-94 for it. I would prefer a Rosewood board and Lakland Preamp and PUPS but PM me with what you have...Thanks!

Now back to your regualrly scheduled thread already in progress....

Peace,

T

"as the Decade turns".....
