Thanks musicman20, I hope your right about this.The LM3 seems to be a very nice sounding head. Still trying to find my sweet spot settings. So far every things flat on eq, with the VLE @ 11 o-clock and VPF @ around 2 o-clock. Yet still hear lot of string slap on fret board. MIA Jazz with lo-riders 105-45 nickles. The other heads don't have this kind of prob, Eden,SWR,Ampeg. Is there a setting you find to tame this down a bit.

I barely touch the eq...bit of high...little VPF. Hmm....I havent as yet had it loud....so I cant say Im an expert as yet.

I get a bit of noise from my P-bass with NPS or Stainless strings if I have too much VPF. In fact, most of the time it is off. I run with a touch of VLE, slightly boosted bass and low mid. All else flat. The rest I can adjust out with the tone on the bass. This works for me.

Same here. Actually I have never warmed up to the VPF. I'm not sure what the center frequency of the high boost is, but it seems to be above the level of the harmonics I want to boost with it. I have a BBE Sonic Stomp - while that is not exactly an EQ pedal, I like what it does for my tone better than what the VPF does.

while a tad of vle might help that, i still find that the same as rolling passive tone at the axe...so, there's that...

Well, to compare the two, I find my tone knob kind of robs growl and presence, while the VLE does not.
I use a bubinga Warwick Corvette w/ SD Hot Stack pickups, and an Avatar 410 with the tweeter turned way down. I run both pickups and the tone all the way up, EQ flat, VLE just below 9 o'clock, VPF just below noon...currently. I change it up a lot, but that's what I'm going with currently. A lot of it depends on how new the strings are.

had this for a while now just snapped pics today.
I liked the color of the bass so much, i refinished the table to look like it (bottom right corner) lol.
I've got the 121P. Tried it will all my basses and they sounded great apart from my Corvette. Same as yours, same color too. But the amp was farting. So I put the bass down and haven't had time to try the Warwick with the 121P again. Did you have that problem too? I might have to turn the bass eq down and see what happens. Like I said, I haven't had a chance to play around with that particular bass yet but I hope the farting goes away.
