Yes i have the shuttle 6.0 and for my applications i prefer it way over the MB stuff... To me it is more organic than the markbass...
The MB always has a cold feel to my ears.. I like full range but the MB has a cold top end and top mid that sounds un-natural to me.. And i like coloration to my sound . That is why i use a REDDI tube DI..
Im not sure if it is the preamp section of the MB stuff or the poweramp section... I have a Neve pre and would like to try it through the power section of the MB just to see if it is the preamp that is doing that.. I guess to each his own... If you say the MB does not color your sound then do an AB to an API or other high end preamp record out.. infact all amps / preamps color sound in a way.. other wise how can all these manufactures claim to have a flat eq and all the amps sound so different... i notice that with alot of very expensive studio monitors too.. they all sound different..mmmmmmm just my 2 cents
To carry on the discussion from the 6.0 tone thread.... +1 to the above. You can really hear that tube in the 6.0, and it does give the upper mids and treble a 'sweeter' sort of vibe versus the very clean and quick LMII or F1 top end.
And also +1 to the 'flat' comment, which is why I always use the term 'relatively flat' in describing the LMII and F1 (and any gear designed to be 'relatively transparent')... I don't hear any significant peaks or valleys in the frequency response, but there is a 'voice' to them like any other piece of gear. That voice is very subtle though to my ears.... but the F1 sounds a touch different than the LMII, etc.
