MF Keeps up there great service.

I just got 64$ credited back to me , so this bass cost 1104.15$..............damn I remember almost buying a beat up rick , in black my least favorite color for 1350$ last year.

I think I came close to pulling the trigger on that one as well, if it was the one in the classifieds 1-2 months ago. Feel bad for anyone who was innocently trying to offload their old Ric when this sale dropped!

Weird... I'd give them a call, customer service has been on the ball, usually even if you get the runaround or get put on hold, the conclusion is they help you out.
I returned mine for an exchange, then later changed my mind and asked for a full refund. I'm glad I did because the 15% off sale came along, but since they're on backorder maybe I can talk them into a FG. Either way I'll be happy, but more so with a FG.

I ordered another MID 4003 yesterday with the 15% off discount and Ebate's cash back. Listed online as expected to ship on 07/13/2012.

I got an email late last night that it has shipped including a tracking number.

I sure hope I don't get another old one with problems.

EBATES - Here's the deal everyone. I use Ebates all of the time and it always works without a hitch. Most online store employees simply do not know the website exsists or how it works.

Go to ebates.com and create an account. Click on the store you and and it will open a new window. The ket is, you have to buy through this window because Ebates is tracking your shopping habits. If you do not buy through this window, you do not get the rebate. It is as simple as that.

So, what do you do about the RIC being that it has an email price? Have MF email you the code and ad it your cart. Open a new window and log into Ebates. Click on MF and go to your cart in the new window. The RIC will be there. Buy it through that window and you'll get an email from Ebate shortly after your purchase notifying you of the purchase.

Ebates is actually a great site. I've used it since 2001 without issues and highly recommend it. You will have to have cookies enabled or it may not work.

Good luck everyone!

My bass was delivered last week. I just called and said I knew they were honoring coupons, and that I did not receive any dscount off the price. Within 2 minutes my account was credited $194.85. Price of my Feb 2011 Rick 4003 = $1,105.15

Come On!!!:hyper:

MF - Nice.

So excited - bad math $1,104.15

Excellent! Glad I saw this. I just did the same thing. MF has great customer service. Sweet! 15% back to my CC.

Rock on!:bassist:

Just got off the phone with MF. Although I was completely satisfied with my bass, I thought I'd try and get the extra 5% discount now available with the VIP15 code beyond what I already got with my initial 10% discount, and it worked. An additional $64.00 off put my bass at $1105!

Dane:

Are you going to convert it into a 5 string bass?

Here's the latest email I got from Ric customer service....

Hi Bob,

I just spoke the factory manager and instead of refinishing the bass what would
actually happen is we would build you a new instrument. This is less time and
energy consuming than a refinish. Plus, you will have no worries about the
instrument being stripped and re-sprayed. It would take about a week or two
before it would be finished as we are currently producing 4003s.

I would highly advise anyone with finish issues, etc to contact them. They are going to big lengths to make things right.

Dane:

Nope. Gonna keep this one a "vintage looking" 4-string. It's the only four I've got. Besides, the current 4003 neck width is really too narrow to be a good playing 5-string...at least in my opinion. Now that the 4004's are going to the narrower 4003 neck blanks, that option will be out. Glad I got two of the last batch of new 4004's with the wider necks. Those basses are sweet.

That's great news and the right way to handle the issue. Kudos to RIC on great customer service. I've contacted them about mine as well.

Wow. That is incredible.

Quick: Someone name another factory bass manufacturer that would do this under any circumstance.

And I bet they won't let that one out of the shop until it has been microscoped, x-rayed, and has TSA security clearance.

Mine just showed up. ordered 8/8.

It appears to be an Oct. 2010.

The box looked good, pulled out the bass and case, and it's perfect.

expecting the worst, I was surprised to find a gorgeous minty bass.
I looked for all of the blems and issues in this thread, but found none*. Zero yellowing binding. Finish is near perfect. binding, inlays all look good.
(* well, the bridge has a little lift, and I see daylight under the bridge pickup cover. wouldn't have noticed any of these without reading about it here.)

Being ultra-nitpicky, there's a little bit of smeared blue paint on the end of the neck under the clearcoat that I can see over the pickguard.....but that doesn't bother me in the slightest.
There's also a tiny dimple on the back of the neck, but I don't care about that either.

Minty enough for me so far.

I've got to do a full set up when I get home. There's a decent amount of relief in the neck as it sits. I'll probably check to see if I've got any high or low frets while I've got the strings off.

People are right, the neck angle on these are sort of weird. I hope that doesn't cause any set up issues.

I haven't plugged it in yet, since I'm at work. Hopefully no issues there.:bassist:

Overall, I'm happy with the bass so far. It certainly looks awesome in person, and feels great in the hands.
The bridge cover is coming off on mine, if I can't get comfortable with it eventually. I palm mute in one song, and that may prove to be a deal breaker. I prefer the way it looks with it on.

I feel bad for all of those that got bad ones. :crying:

Called MF, and I post added the "VIP15MF" discount code so I got it for $1091.40 with the $15 off coupon I already had on there. Awesome awesome awesome.

Excellent info!

Here's a question for you. Many products at MF are excluded from online coupon sales. But, if you call they will typically give you the same discount you would have gotten. I had to do that to get my Geddy for 15% off during Presidents day.

That said, I assume that there is no way that you could use ebates in circumstances where you are unable to order on line?
