I've been told of some situations where the folks at Ernie Ball have gone miles past the point of regular service to make something right .

Nice. Looks like Rickenbacker has good company in that respect. I haven't heard of too many who actually do this for their customers.

Yep ernieball is a great company, i think there the best mass produced instrument , others will argue , but they have also went miles to help me.

I am very happy with my recent Sting Ray. Setup took minutes.

Took me about 20 minutes on the phone. Since they sent me a classic case to replace the smashed one I originally got, they would only give me $46 in credit because they gave me $150 credit toward the case. I'm cool with that. Much better case. They go for $300.

Called about my issues with MF. They are resolving the issue. Very happy with how they handled the situation. Man... I received a fantastic playing bass out of the box, it is just the finish issues that bother me. Replacement bass on order.

Love the sound of this bass..1 problem though..Bridge Cover....Like the way it looked but it was 100% in the way so I took it off..Fingers kept going in the cavity..Gotta get one of those cover plates(2 different kinds that I am aware of)..Anyone have any input on which options might be best???

ok, it took me 20 minutes on the phone with MF but was well worth it. Got the price lowered to $1104. I am VERY satisfied!!

My wife is smiling big over such a nice bass for a fantastic price!!!

I too took the pickup cover off. I liked the look but was simply in the way.

I'm one happy camper.

I currently have the pickguardian on my MID 4003 and the Treble bezel cover on my MapleGlo 4003.

Honestly, they are both fine, but I tend to lean towards the treble bezel cover.

EBATES - Here's the deal everyone. I use Ebates all of the time and it always works without a hitch. Most online store employees simply do not know the website exsists or how it works.

Go to ebates.com and create an account. Click on the store you and and it will open a new window. The ket is, you have to buy through this window because Ebates is tracking your shopping habits. If you do not buy through this window, you do not get the rebate. It is as simple as that.

So, what do you do about the RIC being that it has an email price? Have MF email you the code and ad it your cart. Open a new window and log into Ebates. Click on MF and go to your cart in the new window. The RIC will be there. Buy it through that window and you'll get an email from Ebate shortly after your purchase notifying you of the purchase.

Ebates is actually a great site. I've used it since 2001 without issues and highly recommend it. You will have to have cookies enabled or it may not work.

MF cancelled my order a short while ago as I had both the VIP100 and the VIP15MF codes on there when I purchased last night (the total was 1006.50). I actually wasn't trying to do that, since I figured it wouldn't be allowed. But after putting the $100 off code in first last night, I couldn't get rid of it before applying the 15% one (which I couldn't find at first). I'm going to order again with just the 15% code and go through eBates.

SO last night after reading another ten pages of this thread I checked my case again, and sure enough, one of the metal feet punched into the plastic and cracked it. Called MF today and they're shipping me a new case. I might be able to fit my old Westone into the broken case with a little adjustment...

I'm pretty happy with MF right now.

So my question is, who was the kook at MF who went apocalypse-crazy and stockpiled hundreds of blue Rics????

I don't know, but I hope there's a place in heaven for such people.

Yeah, I almost missed it until I read about other peoples' cases here, so concentrated on the instrument itself it's easy to overlook. IMO Rickenbacker needs to improve the protection for these things before they ship them, especially if they're going to send it in the cheaper plastic case. At least my bass is intact.
