So after playing the Terror I started inspecting the unit, and found this:

I don't know how I could have missed that when I pulled the unit out of the box. It plays fine, so at first, I thought I'd just keep it. Then I thought to check the tubes to make sure that whatever shock caused the dent, didn't dislodge them. Some of the screws were really tight, and were difficult to remove, and then I couldn't get them back in. The case was so dis-formed, that the holes didn't line up.

The whole thing is odd, as the shipping box was sealed with Orange tape, and there was no apparent damage to the box. I can only imagine the damage occurred during packing up the unit at the factory.

In any event, I decided to exchange it for an undamaged unit, so it got shipped back to MF. They paid for return shipping, and the return was a smooth transaction. Not sure how long it'll take to get the replacement.

I just received the Terror Bass today and while playing noticed the edge was slightly dented. Looking at your photo it's the same general dent but not as bad, but still like you said, my box was sealed and looks like it's from the factory. I'm torn between returning it on my dime (doubt they would say a 1mm dent is return worthy) or just dealing with it. But now I'm a bit wondering on the QA process with Orange's China factory.

Where did you buy it? Some stores would offer some money back or discount coupons.
Just be friendly and state your problem as clearly as possible.

I bought it from Sweetwater and sent my sales advisor an email with the photo. He mentioned it's a common issue and will be working something out once w get a phone call together today. Maybe I'm being OCD but this was pretty expensive on my fun budget and while I don't mind dents on instruments (it's bound to happen) on gear items I feel a bit different.

Just an update, I mentioned the dent on the amp to Sweetwater and within 24 hours, had another Terror Bass at my door. Awesome service! They also sent a pre-paid mailer so it was just a matter of dropping off the box at work. An interesting point is they sold the amp later on the site, for a $120 discount.

So after wanting an Orange OB1 500 I then decided on a 4 stroke instead. I did not want Terror Bass because I do not like the lunchbox design.

After reading many posts, talking to others here and watching videos I finally purchased this:

I know it makes no sense to me either, but I'm digging this head and cab so far.

I'm going back and fourth between the Orange and the Streamliner GK NEO rigs to get a comparable tone and I am really liking the Orange so far.

I know I am going to need another OBC115 but MF is out till June so it is going to have wait because I can get 15% off and also use my $116 in rewards points.

Just wondering if the 115 is going to be enough for my gig Saturday or if I should throw an UBER 115 underneath it for now?
Anyway back to playing.

I suppose it depends on your gigging situation, but a single obc115 was always enough for my heavy rock band. Only one way to find out!

Yeah, and those Orange 115s, based on the TL606 design, are gutsy as all get out. Handle a ton of power.

Yes, but I like using a pedal to push the preamp for gain. I use an EQD monarch.

No harm in pushing it all the way. Apart from a slight faster wearing out of the tube.... slight!

After playing with it quite a bit yesterday I also think it will work out well by itself. I just don't really like pushing a single speaker cab and at only 8 ohms I figured I would loose some headroom in the Terror Bass, but it still seems to get pretty damn loud so I should be good.

It does seem pretty gutsy sort of like my Genz Benz UBER 115t minus the tweeter. It seems to be pretty dark sounding, but I really like the mids this cab puts out and the highs are still pretty prominent. Switching from the OBC115 to the GK NEO 112's was a drastic change in tone.

Makes me realize that the head is not dark at all, but rather the cabinet. The mids and highs were screaming at me through the GK's with the bass at 9:00, mids at 3:00 and treble at 12:00. But through the OBC the mids were very pleasant sounding and the highs were just right.

I think I am going to have to get some casters for this thing. While it is not ridiculously heavy, maneuvering through doorways is definitely a PITA. I already ordered a cover for it and it should be here before my show on Saturday.

I compared the Terror Bass yesterday to my Streamliner because they both appear to have a similar EQ where 12:00 is not flat. I was able to get them in the same ball park with the Streamliner through the GK's and the Terror through the OBC115 so that was pretty cool.

Anyway more playtime today and a gig Saturday should give me way more information, but for now I am quite happy.
