I've an OBC210 Mini, I've only seen one other up for sale. Here it is with my OB115. I sold the AD 200 and got an AD140B.View attachment 4970208

What made you prefer the 140? I had an AD140TC (a different amp, I know) and kept always going back to the AD200B, so I sold it to a friend. I might still profile the TC though.

Is the AD140 an all tube model?

how do you like the sound? A front ported 115 and rear ported 210, do you get clarity and equal volume out of the 210?

I have the "other" OBC210 (the one that looks like the OBC115) and find it very similar to the 410 sound wise, just less loud.

I wish I could say I had a master plan between the AD200 and the 140. What happened was I'd sold the AD200 to fund some other purchase. Soon enough, I realized that I missed having an Orange head in the arsenal, and started browsing on Reverb. I spied the 140 and it's uniqueness spoke to me. Mine's running with 6L6's, so it's got a different sound to it, I reckon? I currently have it as part of my home rig, sitting atop an Ampeg SVT212.

I don't remember what I had in the TC, most certainly 34s. I might take a look at it to be sure. I have KT88s in the AD200B, I wonder how the 140 would have been with 77s.

I’d really like to get my hands on a OBC210. I’m planning on getting a OBC115, but I’m not sure one will be enough. I’m In a loud down tuned band and trying to keep a smallish, simple rig. I think the 115 will be good for small bar gigs and anything we do were we have FOH, but practices are where I would use both. Although some say mixing drivers isn’t a good idea, I’d like to try. The OBC410 is flat out too heavy.

Im also considering biting the bullet and plopping down the $$$ for a Barefaced 610, but I’m waiting to hear back from them on what I can expect the total price to be to get one to CA. That 610 is equal in weight to the OBC 115, and I’m sure would sound awesome with the AD200B

I've 2 OBC115's and they sound pretty great together. I doubt you'd be disappointed having the option of one or both.

I was going to second @Rich67's advice, and go for a second OBC115, but then I re-read your last paragraph where you said the Bareface 610 weighed as much as the 115... that's wild! As righteous as 2 of the 115's would be, if you can get away with only having to move that weight around once (the 610), then I'd consider scrimping and saving to make that happen. Then you can choose appropriately for the moment; 115 for the smaller shows, 610 for the other stuff.

I’d love to have an Orange 810 to match the AD200, but I already have 2 SVT 810e, one parked at the studio where I practice with my 3 piece, and one stored and covered in my garage, ready to use for shows, but I rarely have a need for one anywhere we have been able to play out at. Even the 610 is more than I’d probably need in my three piece band, but in my other band, with two guitars, lower tunings, the 212 I’m using now may not be enough. Even in my 2nd bands small rehearsal room the 212 is being pushed to its limits. Plus, the 610 gets a couple of drivers closer to my ears. I have my eye out for some kind of lightweight 4x10 to try at that rehearsal space, just to see if 410 would be enough. I’m hoping to find a good cab the leave at the space where I practice with my 4 piece band, the the 610 (if I ever get one) would be for gigs.

Tonight I’m going to be using a PF800 into the 212, since I have the Orange at my tech’s shop getting checked out and probably re-tubed. It might be an eye opener if that PF800 gets me where I want with that 212. Since the 212 is 4 ohm, I will get the full potential out of the PF800.

I just turned a super nice 4x10" for the right price. I find myself thinking that indoor/outdoor will sound fantastic. Also, I generally find myself playing with cool players who have been available for the assist when required and are likely to dig the vibe, too.

Then I took it off of Standby and immediately heard several pops and got the faint smell of smoke .

I tried different instrument cables, Speakon cables, different basses, went into the return and checked the tubes. Nothing worked and then I plugged in my Mesa TT800 and everything was fine.

So I have already contacted Orange and I am awaiting an RMA number. I have a strict rule that once an amp fails on me I no longer trust it and once fixed, away it goes.

I may have to bypass this rule for this amp. I love it too much to give up on it yet. I still have my 4 Stroke, but it is not a Terror Bass.

Let's see how long it takes to get it back and what the damage to my wallet is going to be .

Hi sloppy_phil, it is a V2. I reached out to Orange and they said they were going to send me an RMA for it. I have not received it yet, but that's ok as I can't send it out until Monday anyway.

Still bummed about it, but at least I have some other really nice amps I can still gig with. I hope after it comes back from the doctors office it will work fine from now on.

I feel you however my BT 1000 failed about a month after using some 9 years ago. I sent it back, they repaired at no charge and while I didn't get a definitive reason for the failure, which caused concern, I am still using it regularly to this day with no issues whatsoever. I trust Orange.

Anybody interested in Orange Cab IR for Bass?
I did an Orange OBC410, an Orange OBC210, both combined, each with a Shure SM57 and a Shure Beta 52. Tweeter off. 410 Centered, 210 slightly offset.
If someone is interested, next time I will do the same with a Sennheiser MD421 and a Røde NT5.
