Exactly. The main thing for me is that my tone/rig sounds undeniably better with it on than when its off, and it isn't just me who thinks this. Guys in my band and ones I jam with say its some sort of magic pedal since its hard to put your finger on what it changes, other than it just makes things...better!

It just enhances things. The highs, the mids and bass. Everything. And Im running it to all tube head. So it sounds super warm yet it helps the tubes cut, get really nasty. I have yet to scratch the surface of this pedal. Cant wait to see what it brings to my sound.

Man, Wren & Cuff are one of my favourite companies, helped me out with a repair on a second hand Phat Phuk B :)

I've had two Phat Phuks, really love that pedal but haven't got room on my board for it, although I *really* want to hear it driving a BB preamp! Still got a TFR just now, so good!

The pink sparkly case on the Phat Phuk B is reason enough to own one, definitely the prettiest pedal I've ever owned.

Is the PPB then filling the same general role as the Submarine on your board? Similar but different?

The PPB's been calling my name for a long time for the same reasons you and Gregmon mentioned (and I've yet to see anything negative about the pedal)

Yeah, pretty much. I use the sub for it's mid freq. it helps me cut. And as a master volume for my board so to speak. The PPB is def a boost for me. But it adds flavor too. It all depends on where you set the bias. I set the boost knob to just above unity gain and leave it in most the time. The sub is also on at all times. They're both the kind of pedals that don't make or break my tone/sound, but you notice when they're not there. I have to admit though, I think the PPB will end up being a critical part to my sound/tone. Very very happy I decided to pick one up.

Hells yea Greg! Told ya that little bugger is fantastic! :D It's by far the best and simplest always on tool I've ever used. Both PPB and TFR have a permanent spot on my board. Can't imagine playing without Phatty!

Man, last gig I had, as the night progressed we all got into it a bit harder and I started really digging in. The result with PPB was this awesome tubelike overdrive with tons of growl. I don't have a tube amp, my Ashdown abm has a tube in preamp that I mix with solid state around 11 o clock. But man, it sounded full, warm and pissed as hell.

It doesn't look like I'm in this club at the moment, but I'm the proud owner of a Phat Phuk B and a Pickle Pie B, both of which I use extensively. Love those W&C dirt pedals.

I've noticed a more audible than usual pop sound when I engage my Phat Phuk of late--should I just blow some compressed air into the switch?

The W&C Tall Font and 70 tri pie are, hands down, my favorite muff clones that I own. I am not a fan of mid boost on muffs. If I need dirt to cut, there are other options that I prefer.With muffs, I like the traditional scoop with plenty of low end and the Tall Font delivers in that context.
Quick question, I have owned 2 Phat Phuk B's at this point. I can't get them to work for me. Whether I put it before or after my fuzz pedals, it seems to take away important frequencies that I don't want to lose. Is that what this "bias" knob is for? I did enjoy using it as a boost/pre-amp at the end of my chain. But to always have to shut it off when I use fuzz was a pain in the $$$, so I moved it for a second time. BUt I love germanium circuits in general, and if this bias might be able to remedy that, I wanna try it.
I guess I always thought that the bias was just the trim pot, but on the outside of the pedal.

Yeah, the bias mod is just moving the internal trim or to the outside if the pedal...helps you to be able to dial in how dirty you want it to get without opening the pedal. Not sure if it would help you. I use the Phat Phuk as a boost and love it. I don't use fuzz often though...

My Phatty is on all the time because it sounds so amazing, and I run a fuzz after it. Never had any problems that I can think of. I do have the external bias, but I usually leave it where it was it from factory. I know from my first experience with the PPB that if the bias is way off the pedal can sound really raunchy, and not necessarily in a good way, so I guess you could try to mess around with it. Also, when in doubt you can contact W&C and send back the pedal for a look-see, or even get the external bias mod.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the following pedals?

- Wren & Cuff Tall Font Russian
- Wren & Cuff The Caprid
- Wren & Cuff The Hangman 2D
- Wren & Cuff The Phat Phuk B
- Wren & Cuff The Your Face (the 60's and 70's versions are the sam size right?)
