The web page says it's specifically designed for detuning, and even though you're right about the first one built for MM, to be a Hyperbass, you just have to have a three-octave fretless neck, a heel-less extended cutaway, a bookmatched curly maple top laminated to a poplar body core, black hardware and single humbucking pickup with ZP2-S active electronics. Believe it or not, the extenders are optional. If you go to the Zon page and bring up the configuration tool, you'll see this.Well it's at least shaped like a Hyperbass. It's only missing the hyper part (detuners).
