Ok you have $2,000 to spend...

Fender American Professional Jazz bass in Sonic Gray with a maple fret board, (couldn't grab a pic of one with a maple fret board), and pocket the other $400.

What bass would you buy...model,color,etc.?

I'm torn:

  1. Fender American Elite Jazz Bass V - I'd want to try both the Natural with Maple Fingerboard and the 3-color Sunburst with Ebony fingerboard to see which one I liked the feel and sound of better. These basses are $2150 retail, but if you're giving me $2k I'm sure I can find what I want somewhere!
  2. The New Jersey Guitar & Bass Center carries Dingwalls, and I believe the prices beat what I've seen on eBay, so I might be able to get a Combustion 5-string with maple neck for under $2k
