One Bass Player You Think Is Underrated?

Alan Baculis. Seen here playing in a Montreal jazz bar. Guy is incredible!! I've seen him live a few times. Played in a band in the late 80's, and through the 90's named Bootsauce. I don't understand how he's falling out of the spotlight. YouTube a track called hold tight. Near the end is a mind blowing solo doodle! Dude gets no love!!

Hey TB People!

I wanted to know if any of you out there know of a bass player you think is underrated and deserves more credit than he/she gets!

For me, I believe Tracy Wormworth of the Waitresses is a very underrated bass player! A big influence being the fact I'm black and a woman and I just don't see many women like that up on stage or women of any color at all getting credit! She is one hell of a bass player and an awesome one at that!

I would vote for Gail Ann Dorsey, who co-incidentally happens to be black and a woman - and also sings like a bird. She has been with Bowie since 1995 and does duets with him onstage. In addition to Bowie, she has recorded or toured with: Gwen Stefani, Lenny Kravitz, Bryan Ferry, Seal, Gang of Four, Ani DiFranco, Tears for Fears, Jeffrey Gaines,The Indigo Girls, Charlie Watts, The B-52's, Khaled, Jane Siberry, The The, Skin, Sophie B. Hawkins, Susan Werner, Louise Goffin, Dar Williams, Catie Curtis, Toshi Reagon, John Osborne, and Michael Hutchence of INXS.

But you never seem to hear much about her.
