Man, the "Orange sound" is hard to describe to someone who has not heard it...

Orange amps seem to have a lot of harmonic content (in a good way, IMHO), and they definitely get grittier as you turn them up. The tone is warm, fairly round, but not super polite. It's got some bark. It is possible to get a glorious clean tone, but you have to work the gain stages a bit. They seem far more at home cranking out loud, in your face, slightly fuzzy, punchy, growly, meaty bass tones.

I guess that's it in a nutshell.

Any thoughts on how the Terror 500 would sound with Aguilar GS112s and/or how the amp itself compares to the Aguilar AG500 in terms of basic tone and over-all power output?

Has anyone spotted a Terror in the U.S.? A bunch of sites have had it up for months, but nothing in stock yet.

I think there's one at Guitar Showcase here in San Jose, but I was so fixated on the Mesa Boogie M9 that I might not have perceived correctly. Now I'll have to go back and find out!

Although I am very intrigued by the Bass Terror, it seems a little bit over-priced, since it only has a single channel and the most basic of EQ's. I wish it had at least one semi-parametric control. A Genz Shuttlemax 6.0 has 9 buttons, 20 knobs, and a footswitch for about the same price.

Anybody know what the center frequency and slope of the mid control are?

It sure is cool looking.

I think the thing I love most about this amp is the price tag. Been thinking about getting a micro head, (micro ish at least), and I can't exactly get "my tone" out of the markbass stuff. I'm dying to try one of these. I love well made hybrid heads. I would, however, need to get some orange cabs to match...

I hate to say it but that's about the ugliest little things I've ever seen. I thought the mark bass stuff Looked bad. Just goes to show performance does not come from beauty! (Looks like a transistor radio had sex with a lunch box)

I'd like to know that too. Marketing text says "a twin valve 12AX7 preamp". 12AX7 has two triodes in one glass envelope: it is a _double_ triode. Using "twin" is really confusing.
Owners, please look in and tell us.

The TB heads are raw and simple. No bells or whistles in the eq department the same as the AD200 no sweeps or any thing like that. I don't see it being a head for the "slapper" more of a "rocker or blues". It gets growly at mid-high volume a lot like the 2nd channel in Aguilar AG500 but a little nice break up thanks to the pre amp tubes.I never got to mess with the DI yet so I have no input on it as we speak. The TB head is monster of a head weighting in at 11 lb but keeping the warm tone of a full tubed amp.
If you re looking for a amp for a bunch of knobs this is not your amp. If you are looking for a amp that has some killer tone you might want to check one out!

I don't think you will be too interested in the DI straight into a laptop so I'll make some clips as soon as I get my GS112. Don't think it will be too long anymore.

Was thinking about Californication/Are You Gonna Be My Girl (Jet) for some clean tones and Hysteria or Ace of Spades with the preamp cranked.

Any other requests? (no songs that are too hard to learn please)

Given the choice, I would suggest the same rock passage played on both a clean setting and cranked setting (finger style); preferably something mostly on the low strings of a 4 string bass with some climbs; maybe Stones - Live With Me - type of riff or even some basic rock I-IV-V riff would be helpful

And then, if you really want to experiment, repeat the above with a pick
(or do whatever you want and thanks in advance)
