ORANGE BASS TERROR: The Review!

This is my Terror rig, with my white OBC115 and a couple of my Fender basses.

For today, use the effects send to give your signal to the FOH-board. It is post-EQ and tubey-sounding as is the D.I. but it's much less hot. Plugging in does not switch off the poweramp.

Oh, this will hopefully help! This amp is by far the best sounding of all the micros IMO. I love it but the DI issue has been irking me. You can't up the gain enough to get OD whilst using the XLR DI out.

Has anyone emailed Orange about this issue? It's really unacceptable. I am going to try contacting them if no one else has.

Alright, please help a n00b out! I just picked up an Ampeg svt 810e cabinet used for a price too cheap to list.. I played around with an Orange Tiny Terror in stores through the Orange isobaric 4x10 and it was awesome. Blew me away. Now, do you think/know if there's enough power in it to run to the ampeg 810 and sound as great? What's the deal with ohms and what not... I know the ampeg stereo is 4 ohms mono 800 watt and 8 ohms stereo 2 x 400 watt? The Tiny Terror is switchable between 4 and 8? Help!

Yes. They do cover some similar sonic ground (both are on the full, warm side), but the Orange is more prone to a somewhat furry, grindy overdriven tone (with the ability to stay cleaner if you try) and the TC is more prone to a fairly clean tone (with the ability to get more gritty/grindy/overdriven if you try). The TC definitely has more clean headroom, but both have plenty of usable volume on tap.

I have a PH 210 on the way and I'm thinking either a walkabout or the 500w terror would fit my needs. Both are expandable, both are lightweight, and both sound amazing.

How they are going to sound through the PH210 is another story...:confused:

My Terror is on it's way as well... I am SLIGHTLY concerned about clean volume (seems like the gain will need to be somewhere around 1)... looks like some people asked about this but no one gave a direct answer, sooo, if someone would please chime in:
Can you get a "clean" tone from the Terror at gig/rehearsal volume?
Granted, I am coming from a 400+, which I thought was pretty clean sounding (albeit not GK or Eden clean, but I am OK with that).

lovin that rig

i just got a terror bass with 2 black 115's and its unreal!

this little amp is awesome!
ive done some major rooms and halls in the past 2 years and this rig would handle any.

with the 115's the bottom is insanely big and tight!
**** it makes me wanna cry:crying::crying:
