Ozzy Calls It Quits!!!

The word retirement is ambiguous at best in today's world. It used to indicate playing golf, pursuing other hobbies, or full-time with family- not changing careers or continuing with one.

When celebrities use the word, it may be taken a thousand different ways. I think of it as a celeb's way of bringing attention to their brand. When that happens, users google the celeb, click on websites about them, or spend money on products associated with the name. Simply marketing themselves, yet again!

I saw the WHO’s Farewell Tour in what, 1983?

Took them at their word & haven’t been to any of the comeback shows. I love many of the musicians they’ve employed since the original but with bands where each member is so identifiable as THE GUY on that instrument, subsequent bands to me are basically tribute bands. IMO.
First thing I thought of...I remember The Whos Last Tour -- huge announcement plugged on radios - a huge success too.....then, a few years later, "The Whos Last Tour - We Mean It This Time" then, a few years after that, "The Whos Last Tour - Those Others Were Just Trial Runs" etc etc

I saw Ozzy on the 13 Tour with Sabbath......its the only time Ive ever heard someone sing flat and once out of key(on Paranoid) and still be Awesome! truth!...however, I also thought he shouldve retired then

Ozzy is a force of nature, and kids through the generations have loved him. I don’t think he can be evaluated against any other singer, he is totally his own thing, as each member of the original Sabbath lineup was.

I had tickets a few years back to see him again. When he cancelled that tour due to the accident I kind of felt like that was going to be it for touring. God bless you ozzman for all the great music. You deserved retirement along time ago.

As far as making new music, no just no!
I saw Patient #9 in a record store just yesterday & I will continue to pass on purchasing it.

We still have his huge catalog of music to enjoy & he can probably do some one off performances here & there.

Sharon's team must be managing the name Black Sabbath now, their website & FB groups are all about Ozzy with nothing in their online discography about Dio, Gillan, Hughes, or Martin.
Valor Kand did a similar thing to the creator of Death Rock.
