This was my very first bass ever. A MiM 1994 P-bass, in a very basic Black paint with White Pickguard. Played great, sounded great, but slowly got pushed out by other basses. I decided one day it was time to revive it. I had been wanting something with a very classic old tone, and decided this was the bass to do it. So off came the poly (omg don't get me started on a nightmare that was.) and since the body looked great on its own, I decided to keep it that way. It was finished in several coats of Tung Oil.
The neck was also great on it, so I kept the original neck and just completely sanded it down and applied a few coats of Tung Oil. The cavity was completely copper shielded, as was the new 62 RI Tort Pickguard. I really wanted the vintage look too, and decided that the bass should have a touch of "jamerson" to it, so the pickup covers and tug bar came on. A Gotoh 201 bridge was added for some additional mass. For the sound I wanted something that could give me a good range, so I dropped in a Basslines 1/4# and Bayou Cables wiring harness. Gotoh Straplocks were also added for my comfort.

EDIT: some people that have seen the bass asked why I didn't fill in some of the nicks, scratches, cuts etc on the body. For me, it was a simple choice not to fill them in. I'm not a fan of "fake relics" where somebody puts the damage in. I like a bass where the relic is the real thing. Where every cut, scratch, ding, etc has its own story and character.
