I like the 55, very nice. Has it had a refret? The frets look a bit bigger than the vintage type.

The neck defo looks like a DiMarzio with the bridge pickup looking like a Bill Lawrence/DiMarzio X2N kinda thing.

I recently rejoined the Pbass world after being too long away from it with this. CIJ PB6278US or 62 style Fender Precision, crafted in Japan with US vintage pup.

Been a longish circle. I got a MIM Standard P two years ago but then decided on a CIJ 51 which I liked so much I traded in for a MIM Jazz Deluxe which did me for well over a year until I worked out how affordable CIJs had become and then got me one o' them. It's the exact sound I hear when I think of bass guitar. Also, this is one beautifully made instrument!

I love this old '55 p-bass just as much as I love my 1850 upright.
It has been part of my life since I was 23. Now I am almost 58. When I
hold it and play it, I know I am a musician. Silly no?

In any case, I felt very strongly that it needed to be put back much
closer to its original state, and am deeply grateful to Roy and his fellow
artists and craftspeople at RS Guitarworks. They have not only made my
old bass healthier and better, they have taught me a lot about bass.

My Squier vintage modified Precision. I've done some serious tweaking of this bass,
and it is one of the best sounding Precisions I've ever played. In fact, I sold my
American Vintage '57 P because the Squier blew it away.
The back of the neck is sanded down to the wood, oiled and polished; rounded egdes
on fretboard, clear coat applied on the headstock, "new" tuners, '62 RI pickup, Gotoh 201 bridge,
additional string guide for A, matte pickguard (sanded with 1200 paper), "ash trays", and finally;
Thomastik Infeld flats.
I will never sell this bass. Never. But I really want a red tortoise pickguard.

I'm in, i'm in.

My first P-Bass was a SX VPB in Red, with a Dimarzio Pu, but i smashed it onstage and it fell apart.
This was, what it looked like:

Then i bought an Aria STP and made it a Franken-P.
The Body and the bridge is original, replaced the pots, put it the Dimarzio PU, bought a Mighty Might Neck and put on the Sx-Tuners.
The neck has only 20frets instead of 21, so there's this gap between the neck and the body, it still sounds really good, though. I use it with thomastik flats.

I waded through this entire thread looking for the darker than lake placid blue color...whatever its proper name is, and I didn't see one. As soon as mine gets here, I will post some pics. I just got it off Ebay for $80 delivered. Squier Affinity P bass.

Pickguard, leave white or other color? It has got some dings in it, but I figured it'll get a few more once I'm done. I can't wait for it to get here

Hello everyone,

I've been waiting to join this club for a long time, but didn't want to until my masterpiece was finished.

I promise to go back and read all 11 pages when I get the chance

Ignore the fact that it's the Pete Wentz signature.

It has a badass bridge, hipshot tuners, hipshot tree, hipshot knobs, GHS tapewounds, Seymour duncan 1/4 pounder, and Dimarzio black pickguard screws.

...oh yes, and it's BEAD tuned, and the second knob is a villex passive rotary tone booster

My Second P-bass, is a Lyon Washburn. The Tuners are All-parts, minus the E-string tuner, which is a Hipshot. The bridge and knobs are also from Allparts, and the pickups are EMG Actives. This one is down a 1/2 step, and can be dropped down to C#

I'll go ahead and join up now that I've finally started using my soon-to-be-modded SX P bass with my current band. At the time I bought this last year it was listed as "vintage white", though rondo has since renamed it "vintage yellow" which is more appropriate. It's got a banana-ish hue in person. Under fluorescents it takes on a sickly mint green color which reminds me of zombie-flesh.

Anway, I like it... so much so that I ordered $200 worth of upgrades which'll be getting here in a week or so. Gonna put in a Nordstrand pup, Tusq nut, new string retainer, Gotoh 201 bridge, one of butch's (from bayou cables) custom wiring harnesses (switchcraft jack, cts pots, mallory 150 cap), aged black speed knobs (i like the numbers), and i'll probably sand the neck down to a satin finish. As is though she's not a bad bass, and will be an awesome one in a couple weeks. (PM'd for a #)

wow, those pole pieces are really high up! There's pickups like that? I've never seen that before.
