I don't play any one style most of the time = there's enough rotation within the herd that nobody gets more than 50%. My PJish thing (but it's wired very differently than any "normal" Fender) is probably the most used, at about 30%.

Double P's FTW

I answered "Other" since my undisputed favorite since buying it has been my Stingray 5HH.

I also have a second "Other", a G&L L-2500, but I do have a Precision and a Jazz as well and I like them all enough that I'd have a really hard time picking a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finisher. If your poll included "All of the above", I would have answered that way.

I also notice your poll does not comply with official TB rules and include "Carrots" as the last choice. Or are you subtly implying that "Carrots" is contained within "Other"? ;)

That is such a pretty bass... Very nice.
Thanks.
Bought it on Reverb using Affirm payment plan.
When I signed up I didn't think they'd approve me, but they did.
A few weeks later I had the money to pay it off but decided to continue making monthly payments…reestablishing credit.
Which is good, because come summer I can buy something else if I see one of those "must have" basses.

usually modded J types ... parts basses ..

but my newer parts P bass will be a mutant ... has a fretless neck ( easily swapped with J bass ) ... SPB-3 P pup ... soon to have a MM Seymour type pup also ... !

then i think i'll have several sounds covered on my 2 parts 4 stringers ... J , P , MM , fretted or fretless .

all passive , all humbucking ... noise is not my friend ( i have synths for that . ! )

My vote goes to Jazz bass with Precision bass being a very close second. But really the best course of action is if you're able to go to your local music store and get some different basses in your hands and play through them if you can and decide what you like that way.

Mostly use P, or else dual HB/soapbar. I do have lots of J pups but rarely use them. One day I will route them all out and install soapbars or MMs. I am allergic to noise, so I really wish someone would make a truly NOISELESS J pup. :(

** Even my EMG Active "Js" are notably noisier than EMG Active "P"! (W^T^H, EMG?)

How about a 2018 poll. What sort of bass do you play most of the time? What is your main go-to sound?

P-style (single pickup in the style of the Fender Precision)
J-style (two pickup in the style of the Fender Jazz)
Other (Stingray, Ric, Dual HB, Piezo, etc.)

Only one vote. Ya gotta pick.

I guess I’m an other. I have an American P-Bass Deluxe that has both P & Jazz pickups. If I’m playing classic oldies, it’s my bass of choice. For more modern music, I play a Warrwick 5 string.
