Gretsch Thunderjet, 5123 hollowbody or other Gretsch models. Squier Bronco with Gretsch 2202 pickup is a nice light option, as is my old Gibson EB-0.

I love the P necks. I will never like how skinny the neck is down low on a Jazz but I can't deny my love for the sound, so I voted Jazz. Maybe one day I'll swap a P neck on a J.

Anything EXCEPT a P or J; I own seven basses, none of which are a P or a J. Even my one Fender is a Jaguar P/J!

I play a Dimarzio DP123, J-pup equipped Yamaha BBN4. 70's J-funk all night long with that bad boy! Not a true J-bass in a sense (especially in regards to cost), but certainly in materials (alder body, stabile, rosewood neck). gets 90% of the J-thing down, so I voted that way.

Having said that, I've lately been swinging (or jones-ing) for the P-bass sound again though...

Man, I gotta get the coin together for my FrankenP DIY. SOON!

Sorry! I couldn't vote for just one because I play a P, a J, and a Ric, and I use them equally.
