Paul Gray form Slipknot found dead

I'll explain myself then. Some people have two parents and turn out fine. Some people have two parents and are screwed up. Some people have one parent and turn out fine. Some people have one parent and are screwed up. So what is the formula?

Wait a sec, there are almost 7 billion people in the world.

There is no formula.

There are way too many people in the world to try and figure one out.

You might say "but studies have shown..."

I've never been interviewed and asked how many parents I had and if I was screwed up, have you?

And in response to your snide remark about being smart, chances are I have an extreme advantage over you in that department.

Amazing logic you have there.

ya, it sucks. when you're about to be a father and that isn't a good enough reason to quit doing enough drugs to kill you, it really does suck. but not for him and not for the fans. it sucks for the wife and kid. especially the kid. well here's hoping that the kid will at least have half a shot at a normal life now that he won't be around to bring that influence in his/her life.

sheesh...what a pathetic way to go, eh?

its nothing new. i'm sure there are many people like this in the world. a prime example i can think of off the top of my head happened 14 yrs ago when bradley nowell of sublime died. he was just married and had a child. a few days after the wedding, he died of an o.d. in a hotel room. its a shame that people die like this :scowl:. RIP Paul Gray

The other sad thing about Nowell's death was, Sublime didn't really break until after he died, he never saw the success of his work. I though Nowell was a major talent!

If you're interested, Bud and Eric are touring with a guy named Rome and billing themselves as "Sublime w/ Rome", which Brad's wife Troy apparently dislikes . Bud's Surf band Del Mar is along for the ride too. Anyone who hasn't should check out the 2 Long Beach Dub Allstars releases, "Right Back" and "Wonders of the World". Bud, Eric, Miguel, RAS1, Jack Maness, etc... My band covers some of this. Very cool stuff.

So the daily reports today say autopsy shows Paul died of a morphine o.d.

Unfortunately yes. It's a bummer he went out like that. He made his choices, for whatever reason, and now others will have to deal with the consequences. Sucks. I'm still not going to hate on the guy though; I like his music and his playing, he was a musician and a entertainer, not a role model. Whatever passed between him and his family is none of my business.

This MSNBC story is how I think it went down with him (if it was an overdose).

No way of knowing the potency since street drugs aren't exactly regulated for consistency.

Now that the autopsy results are official, it seems to have turned out the way I called it. For those of you that partake, please read the article I posted below (and quoted) and be aware of your source. There's some potent stuff being sold nowadays. (90% pure)

I'm not a user. Just sharing info that might help prevent this from happening in the future.

He probably took his usual size dosage, not realizing the new high potency being distributed on the streets.

That's for heroin though (diacteylmorphine). Street morphine is typically stolen medical grade, rather than being made by hack chemists, so its actually more concentrated. But it has a higher lethal dose relative to heroin, and because the concentration varies less there are fewer issues with how much to use, hence why it's less often the cause of an overdose.

Sad.

Not so sad. It is reported as "accidental" overdose. What did he fall into a vat of hypodermic needles that were loaded with it? Don't think so. ;)

No sad in the sense that he fell into addiction and never could get out. There are millions who suffer from this all around us in some way or form everyday in this country and its not always drugs. All we can do our best to treat, educate and pray someone we care about or love doesnt fall prey to addiction (us included)...that's all we can do :hmm:

There's one method you can use that will make sure you never become an addict. NEVER USE DRUGS TO BEGIN WITH.
