I'll play if I get #13....

Used to play thru a PV keyboard amp way back in the day. Have owned a few. Really liked the Classic 400, but it was too much of a beast, both in weight and volume to cart around. Wish I never sold my Max preamp... that thing sounded amazing.

Currently have a VB2, running it thru SVT 810 on it's side. Love tubes..

Dig the VB2 through the fridge! I ran my MK-III through a fridge full of 50w Jensens, I can relate to the high...

Hello over there,

here's my PV Musician

Bought it some weeks ago, it needs some TLC. "Plop" on turning off, some crackles on the potis.
Due to bad practice conditions I haven't checked it in the band.
It works at home, but can't turn it loud.

I also have a T-Max in the other practice room which works very well and ist the "better Ampeg" to me.
Oooh, and an Alpha Bass that doesn't work, that one has to face the doctor!
Photos will be here on next occasion.
And a little Micro Bass to mess around at home (too lazy to take photos of it right now.)

Actually I meant to refer to a Fender Bassman 300 Pro, modded for KT-120s. Close, effectively, to your Peavey Classic 400.
That high I meant.
I'm using my MK-III now, I like the sound A LOT, and it's plenty powerful through the 8x10.

That is an enviable list of killer Peavey heads, for sure. The T-Max is an excellent amp, and I hear great things about the Alpha bass head. @Nighttrain1127 has one, and I'm waiting for him to get done with it so I can buy it off him... ;););) Steve?...

Not going to happen any time soon I hope. The one I have now is like in like new condition. When I got it they had just installed new Power and pre-amp tubes and had it biased and tested for power out. It is an amazing sounding amp considering it was made from spare parts from a guitar amp they had stopped making.

Sweet, I like being part of the first dirty dozen!
Another pic, this time with the resurrected Sunn. I bought the Torpedo Captor for recording these heads since I no longer had a bass cabinet.

Listening through headphones only lasted so long, sometimes you just need to move some air and feel the floor vibrate. I had bought a Fender Rumble 100 as the first addition to the studio and wasn't disappointed. But having a small studio space, I don't like having one trick ponies and didn't have room for another 15in bass cab for the heads.
So I modded the Rumble 100 to also be an extension cabinet, inserting a switchable jack to cut off the amp and just use the speaker when plugged in. I had no expectations good or bad, sometimes you just do something to experiment and see what happens.
I was floored by how good both amps sounded through the 12in Fender speaker, it was good to hear them again after a few years. Well, 4 years for the Peavey and 15 for the Sunn. And the ground does shake when these are turned up!

Love the Musician! Also, the MicroBass sounds like an Ampeg inspired circuit to me. Not surprising, Peavey had a tendency to riff on the popular circuits of the times, they would just build it better and for less money.

Needs a grille, and the amp has been pulled and is off to the bench for a clean up, and maybe some caps, get the wobbles out of the on-board chorus.
There's a Punch toggle, which does what it says in SPADES!! Never heard that impressive a tone toggle in my life. It'll knock the buckle off your belt!
This may be the new gig box. Pretty danged impressive 160w, 2x15 combo. Must weigh about 85 lbs, but we have the wheel!...
