Can you tell me how to access the pots on my Peavey Mark IV 400 for cleaning? I did a cap job on it a couple of years ago and wanted to clean these pots then. The paramid on the second channel really needs it.

But I wasn't quite sure how to gain access to the pots. Not from the inside through the back, as far as I can tell. That's how I got the circuit board out to replace the caps, but couldn't get to the pots on the tone board.

I took the little screws out from the front panel, but nothing came off easily and I was afraid to pull on anything too hard. I'm thinking that circuit board with the pots mounted on it must come out through the front, though? Do I just need to pull with more authority?

I was just afraid to do that unless that's really the direction the board comes out .. right out the front?

Here you go. The cat is an aftermarket mod.

I'm totally stoked with the sound of this thing, and I hope the neighbors are too. :)

Love the octaver although it is going to force me to work on my muting - it gets very growly when you sound more than one string, even lightly. I'll have to try it with a compressor to see if that makes a difference.

I have always had faith in Peavey gear, having used numerous of their older cabs and amps over the years. I have been Peavy gear free for the last three years and I am starting to get that Peavey itch again. I will admit although I shouldn't I troll used gear sections of music stores looking for those needle in a haystack deals, recently came across very reasonably priced Peavey TX 2x10 and 4x10 cabinets ("spike" Peavey logo) in great shape. I have seriously thinking about selling my Trace combo and picking both of these cabs up. There is also a Mark III amp however I am not sure if it would handle both the cabs at the same time (making a 6x10 basically) so I would need to find out the wattage and ohms capacity first.

A lot of Mark 3s did 2 ohms so you should be fine.

I guess I should join this club . . . I am now the proud owner of two T-Max amps (I'll get some pics up as soon as the second one arrives). One I bought as my first amp and have never really used to its full potential, the other I just bought today since I found a great deal. I'll probably keep one at home for backup / recording use.

I'm currently running a TVX 410 cab (I'll get pics of that, too), but that is overkill for home use even at 8 ohms. I'd like to pick up a set of (cheap) 4 ohm 210s because I think that will be a bit more versatile for playing out. I've just recently joined a band and don't want to deal with dragging the 410 everywhere. Any recommendations on 210s? I'm thinking of sticking with what I know and looking for some TVX 210s. In the next few years I'd like to try some of the full-range Greenboy speaker designs, but that isn't in the budget right now.

I have a Tour 700 & most the time it will kick some ass, but occasionally I have trouble with it cutting out. I've had it checked out everything is in working order. No triac resistor (TR3). It seems to be related to not getting enough power, like if I'm plugged in with the keyboardist. (same circuit) No matter how hard I try I can not get the same response at home or at practice. Anybody had this problem?
