Short version:
I bought a couple of TVX 210s and picked up the T-Max I ordered. All is well.

Long version:
I had to pick up my son in Boston (he flew into Logan), so I made a detour through N. Attleboro to pick up a pair of 210 TVXs I'd seen on the Guitar Center used site. Didn't really have a lot of time so I just grabbed them and threw them in the car. One was in pretty good shape with just a few rips in the tolex and some dings on the corner protectors, the other had no tolex, corner protectors or feet. The next day I noticed that one wasn't very loud and was farting out a bit. I took that one to rehearsal this week and everyone seemed to think it did OK. I didn't like the sound very much and was fiddling with my amp settings all night. When I got home I decided to take it apart to see if anything was loose. After removing the grill, I noticed that the speakers did not have the same "rest" position -- that is, one speaker sat about 1/2" further outboard than the other. On the other 210, they were both in the inboard position. Once I pulled the "broken" speaker, I also found out that the other speaker wasn't even wired up. Maybe the wiring came undone and then the speaker blew? Who knows. Back to GC it went (my local one).

My trip to GC was very eventful! Not only did I return the blown 210, but I ordered another one AND picked up the T-Max I ordered last week. Nobody called to let me know it was in and I didn't have a tracking number for the Idaho to CT leg of the trip.

My remaining 210 sounds great. I'm actually considering selling my 410 now, but I need an 8 ohm speaker for my Trace Elliot amp. Who knows, maybe I'll get rid of that, too.

Okay. I've tested my Peavey Headliner 210 under many scenarios. In my opinion, it's a keeper for $200 new. This may get long winded. This is my first experience with a sealed cab. I've tested in combination with a Peavey 118 SUB 8 ohm and a Peavey 410TX 8 ohm and of course by itself. First dilemna is that is quieter than the other cabs when run parallel. I tried finding the best set up with my Peavey T-MAX head in conjuction with my BBE 383 preamp. I prefer the 118 paired with it as opposed to the 410. The volume matching seems to be closer. Tried all set ups solo, loud practice, and the same medium sized bar/club with top notch PA and stage. However, I have since added my crown XLS1000 into the mix and I'm NOT running it bridged. I run as INPUT Y and set the high pass filter at 50HZ. I run seperate channels to each cab. The 410TX is my favorite pairing with this configuration. The Headliner does a surprisingly good job for brightness without a built in horn. With this, I'm running 215W at 8 ohms to each cab. For max volume, I crank the channel powering the 210, and use the 410TX as kind of a sub woofer... turning it's channel up to dial in more low end as I see fit. This sounds outstanding. Clean, zero fart low end. I tried biamping, but couldn't create any noticable advantage. Running full range on both cabs gave me the best sounding results. Crystal clean mids and highs. I'm toying with the idea of buying a 2nd Headliner 210 for a vertical 410 set up. This would obviously eliminate the need for channel seperation for the 2 cabs.

Would I rather have a Mark Bass, SWR, Eden, Aguilar etc 210? Absolutely. But for $200 total cost including shipping from Amazon, I am very happy with this cab. Any other details that I missed or that folks are interested in hearing about, please let me know and I'll do my best to update.

I live in northern RI and they had 3 of the 210 TVX's when I stopped in. I was very interested in 2 of them, but didn't want to convert to any 4 ohm cabs. Sorry you had a hassle, but glad everything worked out. I have a T-MAX as well. I'm jealous of your double ownership. Congrats. I also contacted Peavey and they sent me the part number for the EQ fader knobs. Only $12. I can PM the part # if you'd like.

Thanks Glass To Mouth, I figured it would be a good buy for the Money. I was planning to run One 210 Cabinet and one 118D. My 118D's are 4 ohms, and the 210 is 8 ohms. The Tech at Peavey said this would work out at 2.6 Ohms, and that i would not be over powering either Cabinet.

The price on the second T-Max was too good to pass up. I really don't NEED two. I'll send you a PM about those part numbers, but it might be good info for everyone who owns one.

I was watching the three 210 TVXs online for a while, but just before I was ready to buy they went down to two in stock. It has all been sorted out now; I just picked up my replacement 210 this afternoon. So far so good, it appears to be the nicest of the three I've seen now. The only thing I want to change is to put some feet on the ends so that I can stack them upright.

I have a c.1986 Musician Mark III head and 115BX cab with a Carvin 4Ω speaker. Sounds great, but the combination prevents me from adding any other cabs, like a 210TX. I'm guessing that the old Bass amps worked with a 2Ω load or there wouldn't be all those Bass/210TX/115BX stacks around. That's what I really want.

Funny story: I worked in Peavey shipping during 1985-87 and was the last person to handle the gear before it went onto a freight truck. In 2007 I bought my Musician amp off craigslist in Austin; it's almost certain that I shipped it out of Peavey's warehouse in 1986! It came back to me!

I have 2 Mark IV Heads. I owned one for 20 + years and then I bought one from Musicgoround a couple years ago for 100 bucks and its mint condition. You can not go wrong for 100 bucks. They are my Favorite Peavey AMP I have owned the Firebird 700 and the Modeling Head. I like my MarkIV i know people rave about the VI and VIII never heard one but I 'am sure there good. I would like to hear the VB 3heads the old cabs are great as well. I have played through the old Combo it was nice

It's been a crazy couple of days at our place. Being that it's the Christmas season doesn't make it any less nuts, but there was a reason to jump today! I placed a brand new Tour 450 and a brand new, yes new, TVX on lay away! The 450 was almost half price and the TVX was a demo cab. It's never left the store! So excited to play it some more! All extra cash is going to it to get it asap. I'm not excited to move the cab around, but I'll deal with it because it sounds fantastic! I have a dolly that I can use to move it around. I can't wait!!!
