The B Quad is a pipe dream for me at this point. I love the graphite neck and it's a beautiful bass, but I hate piezo tones, so it'd be kind of pointless to attempt one of those.
The GV is DEFINITELY a contender, I forgot about those. I'd definitely shoot for one of them at the right price. Are they 35" though?
I played Petch's Millennium and thought it was a great bass, very beautiful and well made, but the 35" kind of lost me a little.
Essentially, my preference is something that gets a good finger funk/slap vibe, has tonal clarity, would be a compliment to my 2 main basses (Jazz Dlx and SR5) but different enough that I don't feel like it's a waste, and is made very well so I don't feel as though it's "a beater".
Peaveys are something I have little experience with. I'm the kind of guy who buys basses to experience them first hand, get a chance to pull them apart, clean them up, and eventually sell them when I realize that I can't afford to keep them all. What I see with the Peavey TL5 is a possible 3rd KEEPER, in the sense that it's different from the main 2, is relatively inexpensive, and will serve my purposes when the other 2 aren't quite right for the situation.
... or it's just GAS
