I hope you don't hate me either if you don't like it . I am still enjoying and discovering how much this little power house can do
Sorry. Mines toast! No doubt. Gain at 3. Volume at 3. No pedals, with pedals. Pedals on input side, pedals through effects loop. Plugged into my Hartkes. Plugged into the Acoustic 301. Crap. Nothing but crap. Definitely something wrong. Amp is no louder than when set at noon. Seems fine till you crank it and there's no discernible volume increase after 12:00. Luckily my bandleader is loaded. Hello GK 550 fusion.
I certainly believe I'm just one of the unfortunate few so I'm not gonna bash Peavey, stuff happens. What's frustrating is I've been giving the amp the benefit of the doubt for over a year now thinking it was something I was doing wrong. Time wasted. Now it's weeeelll out of warranty.

Mine had the same problem. I only kept it 24 hours so of course I had no problem with a refund. I expect Peavey will take care of you. ...hope so. BTW, I picked up a Mini-Max with the refund. I didn't end up keeping it for a variety of reasons, but it was a hell of a nice little amp. ...just sayin.
Mine was out of warranty. They repaired it and shipped it back, all I ate was shipping cost there. Their cs is great. Of course, being cordial and friendly over the phone never hurts.

Sorry Joe, honest truth. I wanted to love it. I've gat a strange sentimental attachment to Peavey as a brand and really wanted to go this route. But for over a year I've been wondering why 1000 watts wasn't enough. Now I know. Again, seems most everyone has positive stuff to say. I would fill out and mail in the warranty registration though. Two negative reviews, back to back, and Joe's is in route.
Oh... My amp was early in their run (as yours must have been if it's now out of warranty). Hopefully PV's had a chance to fix the bugs since then. I'm pretty sure I posted my issues at the time - probably in this thread somewhere.

While we did note that the MiniMega could not pass our continuous power test at 4 ohms, it aced the burst power test (which is more representative of an actual bass signal) and I have never had a problem on the gig.

I have run my MM1000 @4 ohm on a few HOT outdoor gigs in Texas.. It had to be at least 100 degrees outside. The amp did fine... I drive it harder when running at 8 ohms though.. I think its about 700 watts at 8 ..
To me the amp sound very even from top to bottom.. Does Not have its low end neutered like many others or add EQ bump to make it sound bassy.. Its just full and smooth

It is IMHO a toss off the dice. My favorite solid state amp for my cabs and style was the svt7pro which took a dump just as many other owner's did. I am talking no customer service in that instance when the amp died and smelled of burning components. No customer service for secondary owners. Peavey has honored my 2nd owner request for service based on the fact that I bought it from a TB member a week after he got it back from warranty repair. Don't know how long that good will may continue and I have not had the energy to call yet. As I stated before, the other one I bought prior has had no problems. Luck of the draw IMHO. I have a KXB500 which is plug and play and never a hickup and a tube amp when I am feeling my oats so I will send this one back again soon if they offer and will give results here.

I thought I updated all my posts regarding my Carvin, but see I missed this one. My sound guy fixed my BX700. It was an input connection that came loose. Easy fix. But I decided I still wanted the new head.
The Peavey arrived 1 hour before I had to leave for last night's gig.
I can now join you in that boat.
I just left a long, detailed review and decided it was unnecessary. I got my Peavey last night and was able to check it out during soundcheck at last nights gig. I believe I received a defective head. If not, the Peavey is not for me. Didn't like it and it's going back.

Sorry to hear it, Joe. I'm beating the snot out of that Fusion 550. That's one nasty critter. Reached out to Peavey customer service. We'll see what they say.
Joe, is your review somewhere online? Just curious what the specific deficiencies were...

In short: It sounded processed to me (compressed even when the compressor was off), and I didn’t like the sound of the effects. I was hoping the crunch would be more like an overdrive, but I couldn’t get a sound out of it that I would ever use. It also started crackling when I dug in, and that’s when I decided it was a done deal. I have a strong suspicion I got a head that was defective.
That amp was definitely defective. No crackles here at all. I had no interest in the effects and was buying for the power, and for what it's worth I hated the "crunch" distortion too. The Kosmo stuff is useless (except at low vol) to me but one thing I like is the punch button. I also use a little compression. However I didn't think it sounded as voiced as a LOT of other amps. Toms Bass Gear review stated that it wasn't heavily voiced and close to flat at noon. But I too hear what you're talking about. Other amps that I would consider more "voiced" would be Aguilar, Ampeg, GK, MB, etc. if you really want unvoiced I think my Glockenklang amp especially (alsoGenz Benz) was the most pristine and clear uncolored amp I've ever owned. I'm not sure it's the best Rock/modern amp I've ever owned. But hey Joe, I'm sorry to see you dump it before you get to try a working one. I think overall it's a great gigging tool. With a ton of grunt. Perhaps you should try the Bamp, I would if I had the dough. Haha also look at Trickfish and Genzler, but then you're in the price range of the Bergs.
