Peavey MiniMega 1000

I hear they're making a rackmount version. It will look great in your rack along with your rmv420. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
When I read "vaporizer" I thought "ray-gun". This is different. The video wouldn't play on my phone (I can only imagine the product demo), but, still, hilarious. As for discretion, the user interface looks decidedly Frampton-esque.

I

Someone said that when they talked to Peavey the amps were "on the water". If that was really the case, perhaps the delay is something (customs, docks) out of their control.

.

That was me.
I spoke to someone today and they said "backorder til end of July". What that means I don't know. Perhaps they were counting the "on the water" shipment as gone and that is the next one.

I spoke to another guy last week and he got kind of pissy with me "we don't give out that info call your retailer".

I don't know anyone there but was in sales and manufacturing in a former life and know the questions to ask and have decent schmoozing ability.

In any event I had to order a GK 1001rb2 because I need a head to run a new cab. (used for $350, I should be OK).

I am filling out my hurt feelings report as I speak. If it comes in I suppose I will take it and use it or the GK for a backup.

I do fear it is going to be perpetual vaporware but I hope not.

ETA: does Peavey read this stuff? I would.

The story seems plausible.
There was a longshoreman strike/slowdown on the west coast. Lots and lots and lots of containers got delayed. I'm certain this caused a customs backlog, which could cause a distribution backlog.
Adds up to me.
Now whether or not any of these amps actually came through an affected port is unknown to me.

Either way I'm still excited about the little bugger and can't wait to try one.

Pretty sure they are coming through New Orleans but Long Beach strike thing could cause a ripple effect elsewhere.

I WANT TO BELIEVE.

Just got off the phone with MF. Nothing conclusive, but I was told that the change of date on the site is "if you order it today." Might or might not apply to people who ordered earlier. If they've received the shipment, though, it hasn't been processed. Will post if/when I know more. Not ready to call it vapor-ware yet. (Skies, was your post a play on that?)

My understanding is US Customs hasn't been jumping through hoops to get shipments from China moving too quickly anyway. At times it paralyzes Uli & his Behringer City Subjects.

As of this post, Musician's Friend website now says 8/10 availability. I can't wait any longer.

So allow me a slight hijack.

I have a used GK 1001rb2 coming from guitar center at $350.00

I do not need the bi amp capability, would I be better off with a GK MB800? Any opinions are welcome.
