Peavey US Made Millennium Basses

Ok, I don't think it's possible for me to look more goofy, dorky, strange or even alien like than I do in this picture but, Blues Bass 2 came out to hear my band last saturday and brought his Millennium 5 plus so we took a picture of all three basses together. Anyway, nice to meet you George. The club owner really liked the band so chances are we'll be up there again sometime soon.

Great shot. That's a whole lot of Peavey power!:D

Hey Chris,

I had a real good time. It's the first time meeting another Talkbasser in person and you guys have a really good band. Those guitar players are both very good and the drummer is tight. The best part was the bass playing of coarse.
Chris is a great player,he can really nail all the new country stuff and country bass parts aren't just the simple 1st and 5th like they used to be.The first song was a fast boogie that would have tore me up and it didn't get much easier after that. They played slow songs too and the tone Chris had worked for all the different songs, good low end and when he played up high the notes sustained very well, kind of Jaco tone.I could hear him in the mix all the time and that doesn't happen at too many gigs I go hear. Most of the tone is Chris but that Millennium sure sounds good to me.

Next time you guys play hear I'll drag my wife over for sure.Your wife was very nice and they should get along. The Twang Gang is on my must go hear again list for sure.

Hi Charles,I know you are taking good care of Violet,my first Millennium. The black one that Chris has in the picture was mine also so I guess since we are talking about Millenniums we aren't derailing the thread too bad.

I have a question to anyone who has played both a maple fretboard Millennium and Pau Ferro fretboard. Did you notice that the maple fretboarded one cut through the mix alot better, I mean ALOT better. I keep going back to my black one with the maple fretboard because it seems to have a cleaner more pronouncd tone with great growl down to the low B. My Tiger eye with Pau Ferro sounds good but just not quite as nice. Just wondering if it's my bass that has a problem or am I just hearing the difference between the two different woods.
btw, they have the same strings and as close as possible to the same setup.

I would put my money on your ears - figuratively speaking of course.

It looks like you have a great A/B comparison going and that is the difference in the boards.

With my maple-necked Millennium, I tend to favor the bridge pickup. Perhaps your Pau Ferro wants to be more on the neck pickup?

I just posted an identical thread in the U.S. Peavey Club thread. I can't help it! I'm kinda beside myself.

I just bought a new USA Millennium Plus on the 'bay for $310 shipped.

You all have seen it I'm sure. It's a new old-stock that has been listed for a long time in the seller's store and he just this week went and put it up for an auction.

Now I've got tell my wife! $310 seems to be a good deal for the bass, but it's $310 more than I have!

Now I've got to go sell some stuff!

As to the bass, it looks sweet. I'm not wild about the white, but we'll see. Anyone know someone in the D.C. area who does good repaint work?

So what's a used import Millenium worth?

Does it say "BXP" on the headstock? Where was it made? Imported Millennium's are not what we're talking about here.

We're talking about the Millennium basses that Peavey made in the USA and sold for between $1200 - $1500 new - like they're USA Cirrus line does now. These American made basses sell for $400 - $600 now depending on features.
