I got it used but the condition was literally pristine, the frets showed no sign of use at all, and it was in dire need of a setup which suggests it was either looked after with exceptional care or just sat unused for all those years. Once I set it up properly the playability surprised me, it's a lot easier to play than my other Fenders, I was expecting it to feel like a normal USA Fender (i have 2 other USA Precisions and a J), but this is definitely an easier and faster bass to play. Not sure why that is but it came as a surprise. I like the switch too, the simplicity of it is a bonus for me, i'm either in the middle or on the P side, although the bridge pickup is ridiculously growly by itself so i'm going to sneak that in at a cafe gig tomorrow night and see how it sounds with a full band when solo'd.
That white one on Amazon is a beauty, didn't even know those existed! I've had some nice PJ's in the past (including a Sadowsky metro) but there's just something special about this series, if you're thinking of getting one you have my full recommendation, you won't be disappointed.

Nice. I have a '63 AV RI that is labeled Oly White that looks faded sonic blue! Ha!I just acquired this Olympic White Mustang PJ. What a player it is. It was labeled a Sonic Blue. I really had to get it in good light to see that is was an Olympic White at the GC.
Hey @Double E, upon reviewing this thread I see that @StereoPlayer has 2 numbers, 6 and 68. I had missed your transition to thread monitor so didn't see the pics required memo when I first posted. I did come back later and post pics of my 5 PJ's in post #716. All this to say I'd be happy to take #68 of your hands to aliviate renumbering.

Yes sir! Will do Mr. Agent Double E. I'll just have to take some cause I went through my photos and can't find any more. Haha I'm really not much of a photographer. I realized this after living with two different women who were, for many years, that I had taken very few photos of my own over two and a half decades. Kind of sad really as I have little photographic record of my life as 20 yrs of photos were tossed by my 1st SO's family when she passed many yrs ago.
My $50 Thrift-shop find. Needed a new nut and the output jack replaced.
Nice... I had a Kramer Focus back in the day. It looks like there is a good break angle on the strings at the nut. I also find it interesting that the designer opted not to put the inlay at the 21st fret, as if they may have decided that it might look more traditional without a dot on the last fret.
Anyhoo, that's a nice find for 50 bones!
Thanks! I still need to complete the setup, but I like the way that it plays. Also the finish on the body is pretty beat up and not in a pleasing way, so a refinish may be in the mix.
I've got two PJ's. Spector Forte 4 and Fender Elite Precision.
